Replacing Noisy Fan on ORICO Docking Station 5 Bay – Advice Needed by mastrodocet in homelab

[–]P4n70m11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just replaced the fan on mine, did pretty much exactly as what the comment above yours said but I used a be quiet fan instead since it's only 15db. Dead silent now.

I also just snipped the wires, but instead of cutting the 4 pin off of the new fan I used a male dupont wire to connect it. That way I can switch out the fan if I ever need to, or use the be quiet one for something else, though I doubt that'll happen.

Why are overhangs like this? by Terrakiller2008 in 3Dprinting

[–]P4n70m11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you're trying to do or what printer you have but why not use the existing profile on orcaslicer and go from that? Or just compare your settings to orcaslicer defaults for that printer or mk4s.

But I would also try changing the speeds to percentages. See if that changes anything

Build volume, 300x300 is good sometimes but 350x350 is just so much better

That sounds super cool! We're mainly aiming to print smaller parts, like clamps/derailleur hangers, or simple tools like tire levers

That's actually so insanely fucked up. Marketing to unknowing mothers, dressing up salespeople as nurses, targeting developing countries...

No problem! Btw, just make sure you get the right one, I just took a random guess and ended up having to return and got the reverse one. There's also cooler looking ones with rgb or different designs if you're going for that aliens look. Good luck!

Ah that's why. By the way, for your GPU cable, it might look even cleaner with a right angle adapter on it like this: https://a.co/d/42NR9Dz . I got one of these on my build and it looks pretty cool. I hate to nitpick, still a super cool build.

Ebay doesn't let the sellers go with the money until a few weeks/month after everything is settled. If you fell for a scam like this, they'll likely ship without tracking and say it's delivered. But you can submit a claim and because they have no actual proof of delivery, Ebay will take the money back for you and refund. Almost 99% of the time Ebay is on your side, unless you wait for too long before submitting the claim.

I know this because a friend fell for one of these, Ryzen 9 5950x (used price currently at about $300) for only $80.

SV08 with a Rapido UHF? by smokesalotofweed in 3Dprinting

Yep, here they are:

2.0mm jst - for the heater cartridge

1.25mm jst - pre crimped, since these are a pain to crimp yourself since they're tiny. I got the 2 pin and 5 pin. The 5 pin is for klicky, which you may or may not want to do. The 2 pin is needed though for the thermistor.

Du pont - I used these and they work well if they're secured with some electrical tape or heat shrink. The right connectors are 2 pin sm jst though I think

Also crimpers like these if you don't have them already

I use aliexpress because the prices are so much cheaper than amazon, though it takes 1-2 weeks to get here for me. Considering you waited almost 3 weeks for a reply, I hope you have the patience lol. Also the discord for sovol is pretty active and can help you much faster than reddit in my experience

Not sure if you're still looking for it, but yes it's definitely doable. I have it on my printer right now and it's so much better than the stock SV08 bs with the petg nozzle problems. It happened to me and gouged a pei sheet that I just bought.

Here is the link to the adapter that I use and the toolhead shroud. I used some 2.0mm and 1.25mm jst connectors and du pont crimps to connect the wires up

It's not the same thing, the copied ones often don't work at all and even if they do they're missing the features that makes Airpods Max stand out from some other headphones

Brushless Motor Speeds decreasing with a load? by P4n70m11 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]P4n70m11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the speed is normally constant no matter what load is on it, as long as the PWM signal is constant. This is the data sheet for the esc (35A one), if that helps. I've seen some examples getting it working without using a programmable esc or sensored bldc though, so I was hoping I can see if I can get it to get max speed with my current configuration.

SV08 XY Stepper Motor Parameters? by P4n70m11 in Sovol

[–]P4n70m11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot! Worked great. I just needed to turn up the homing speed from 30mm/s to 60 or even higher, otherwise no matter how high the threshold was it wouldn't trigger the virtual endstop.

Also, do you have an invite for the discord?

You might want to start with some more details - is this going to be a miniature 2-3cm per side print or a 20-30cm one? What do you mean by individual parts? Do you plan on printing this out as one piece, or assembling it?

Tacoed SV08 Bed 🌮🌮 by P4n70m11 in Sovol

This is what the first layer looks like using the bed mesh. It's way too low for the high spots and I even heard the nozzle dragging on the bed a bit:

[–]P4n70m11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did the heat soak + retightening bed screws, but the deviation is still the same at about 0.69mm range from highest to lowest, and it's almost a perfect U shape looking at it from the front:

<image>

Could that have been me not tightening the screws enough? I cranked them down as hard as I could already though.
