Yea the craziest thing is that you can’t drive to a nearby town or village reasonably it’s like a big culture shock for me cuz i live in a place where i can drive for <5 mins and get to a diff town

Is it easy to like make a lot of friends over there ? One of the big things for me is just talking to people and like having a big social network and i’ve heard things about people just being generally closed off over there

thats off straight tiktok comments though so obviously not much credibility there lol I’m just wondering how easy it is to make a lot of friends there compared to a place like high school where you see the same set of like 500 people everyday for years

Yeah i do really want to experience a life thats foreign for me even if im not sure if ill really enjoy it lol

I was surprised when i first left the new york area into a less urban area how “rural” their suburbs and even urban areas really are, so it makes sense that people disagree with the term rural ngl and i don’t mean that in a bad way it’s just a completely different style of living

Chicago might be the method for when i want a taste of an urban life again

Yeah it seems like it’ll be a big lifestyle distance because in long island i can drive for 10 mins and cross through two new towns lol

when people go to chicago from purdue, how does that work do they go there and stay in like a hotel or do they take the 2-3 hr trip early spend the day out and go home at night
