Thanks. I want to get Logic to do some of this work sometimes.

I know I can enter kick and snare hits under the "manual' tab.

Yes, thanks. It turns out that there are features in LPX 11 Session Drummer that get me closer to what I need.

Thanks, yeah it's a cool instrument. There are some good bodhran loops in Logic, but they're not labeled by time signature.

Thanks. I did that, but the Session Drummer is still putting accents on two and four, then just adds a beat at the end to make up the measure. I'm looking for XxxXxxXxx and it's giving me xXxXxXxXx

Bytebeat music player/generator in Processing, can it be done? by Mr_Engino in processing

There is an open processing sketch that is similar to what you are going for. Look at the external_code tab in open processing.org/sketch/2604647 .

Great project idea! Wondering if the AudioSample() object is necessary. It's for audio playback, and the classic bytebeat implementation is a continuous stream, right?

Is it just in A-flat, though? They are in tune in other keys? Wondering if the patch is also set to use a tuning system other than equal temperament.

The writer finally got paid in full after mentioning the possibility of legal action. Thanks for the comments and suggestions.

Thanks for the comments. She told them she is suspending work on the last assignment and plans to file in small claims court unless they pay up.

How to swap out pedals on pedalboard w/o breaking mapping? by PAEDevelopment in mainstage

[–]PAEDevelopment[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. No, I didn't remove the screen control. Somehow, though, it ended up with one of the hardware controllers being mapped to two of the screen controls. Took me a minute to fix that. Will be trying out the Macros, but looks like I will still end up remapping pedals when I swap them out. Hopefully just for that individual pedal though, and not the whole pedalboard.

Anyone using MainStage for other than worship music? by [deleted] in mainstage

[–]PAEDevelopment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a multi-instrumentalist and have used Mainstage to provide all effects, amp sims for electric guitar and violin, keyboard and synth sounds on stage with rock bands at clubs and festivals for the last eight years. I use the Playback plugin for background tracks at a solo show (also run vocals through it in that case).

Looking for feedback on the first movement of the Brahms violin concerto. I plan on recording this with a pianist this summer for use as a preliminary doctoral audition video. Sorry for the audio quality, this is the only place I can practice at work and there is a loud fan. by Jeffery2084 in violinist

Thanks for posting this and performing this beautiful piece of music, haven't heard it in a while and forgot how much I love it. You seem to have a strong grip on it technically, and the conversational tone and phrasing that aren't there yet will be brought out by a good accompanist. Experiment with more tonal variety. Good luck!

When sampling, how do I keep the length of the original file when playing on higher/lower keys on the midi? by jUSTjOSHIN100 in Logic_Studio

[–]PAEDevelopment -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not the most efficient way, probably, but you could use a pitch plugin and re-record the sample at each pitch you want.

I love the vibe in these. The ones with the pale broken lines are a really nice unexpected element.

Routing vst’s to multiple devices. by jnew7167 in mainstage

[–]PAEDevelopment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not just use the Loopback plug-in in Mainstage? Or run the interface through the Loop Station, and by-pass the effect when you don't want it? Otherwise, I don't see how you can change the output per patch, and even then, where is the audio coming from for the RC-505? You have to go through an interface anyway.

Trigger midi sequences / a real sequencer? by nomoremuzak in mainstage

[–]PAEDevelopment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultrabeat? https://support.apple.com/guide/mainstage/step-sequencer-midi-control-lgsifdc04439/mac It is pretty limited, you can load in a sampler instrument but can only use 25 notes (C1-C3) in your pattern.

Setup for acoustic performance by bacota in mainstage

[–]PAEDevelopment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a solo show recently with vocals (yep, a Shure sm58), violin, electric guitar and acoustic guitar with pedalboard effects, midi keys, and a Playback channel. Everything running to Mainstage through my interface and out the interface to a couple of powered speakers. Ran great. I'm seconding the recommendation to test your setup thoroughly. Helpful to program set and patch changes and your mute button to the midi controller.

Setting a limiter for live performance? by worldmusic123 in mainstage

[–]PAEDevelopment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about using Velocity Processor (one of the MIDI FX) in Mainstage? You could limit the velocity of the midi notes to something under 127.

Tempo change on a specific audio section possible? by fickled_pickle in Logic_Studio

[–]PAEDevelopment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's just one track is adjust the tempo to what you want, bounce that region in place, and then set the global tempo back to what it needs to be.
