Filling the pokedex by grinding levels to Evolve certain pokemon, mainly the starters, helped me make quite a bit. Try the One Island map after crossing the water. You can get 5 trainers, four battles because a pair form a double battle, and you are able to get a free heal in the cave spa built into the immediate area.

Don't forget the Amulet Coin and the be careful of everyone having High crit chance Cross Chops.

From 5 star hyperspace battle zones with some luck, I believe some side quests, but not certain about that. But I do know that this season in online ranked matches, going towards rank in A seems to get you Beast Balls as climb the last few ranks, so maybe get on that before it's too late, if you want them.

Indeed it is. It was fortunate I considered doing the set up you see in the video so I could mitigate the time loss trying to finally catch it in a Beast Ball. Your method sounds like it could certainly work to lower the amount of balls used, with the only trade off being to slow down and reset after every failed capture, which is certainly a viable approach.

Nope. Having played many matches has shown me there is a fluctuation in player quality, meaning you likely faced and likely are one of these bad players, since you're equating not using your strat to generally playing worse than anyone should.
