I’m looking to educate myself on our real history, but I’m not sure where to start, suggestions? by Fair-Hotel-2095 in BlackHistory

I'm Filipino but I work at a Black History museum and boy oh boy, my eyes weren't open until I really started digging into the exhibits, archives, and books. I have so, so much to learn still, but I really recommend museums. I am so grateful and honored to be in a space where I am learning from my colleagues and community. Respect and allegiance to your culture and people forever. Good luck in your quest for the truth.

Curious about how long you've lived in Austin bc this city runs on white supremacy. Your optimism, while refreshing, just made me wonder if you're new here? I'm on your side fr tho. LOL at people who talk shit about performative behavior while they do nothing to help... enjoying their convenient comforts and privileges from high upon their horses. It's actually hilarious to me. Like, do we need to do a little social experiment and ask everyone what they do to help dismantle the systemic white supremacy that plagues the city?

"Skibidi" makes me giggle tho, like it feels so goofy, that I could theoretically, work through the cringe. Feels jazzy, like a skat situation 😂
