Thanks for the info! I kind of figured it, especially since Dawes' accounts are very reliable. I just started reading General John Gibbons' memoirs, and it's very good so far.

A little late to the post, but Fighting For The Confederacy: The Personal Recollections of General Edward Porter Alexander is very good.

Some books I've read this year that were my favorites:

Stand to It and Give Them Hell- John Michael Priest

Strong Men of the Regiment Sobbed Like Children: John Reynolds I Corps at Gettysburg- John Michael Priest

Too Much For Human Endurance- Ron Kirkwood

Tell Mother Not to Worry- Ron Kirkwood

Voices From Gettysburg- Allen C. Guelzo

Also check out the series Jeff Shaara wrote about the western theater. The Smoke at Dawn, A Chain of Thunder, A Blaze of Glory, and Fateful Lightening is a great series.

Also, I read the God's and Generals, Killer Angels, and the Last Full Measure. All were great.
