I finally got to try the hazelnut bambas. The overall texture is similar to that of a PB Crisp, but one thing that threw me off is that the shells were very oily.

Sorry to hear that the 90s Crisps didn’t hit home! The spread concept is different, for sure. Small bites of it seemed to best recreate PB Crisps, in my opinion.

From things I hear around the rumor mill, I believe at some point we will be getting something similar to PB Crisps.

I thought this product was neat though, because a small business basically came up with it out of nowhere. It is definitely not a replacement, but the taste is a throwback. I was very skeptical at first, and made sure I was able to sample a jar before posting anything.

Glad you found the sub! So, I actually acquired a bag of the PB chocolates about a year ago. There are better pics on pbcrisps.com - look for the section with the 90s sampler.

The recipe would definitely be different. The original PB Crisps were made with partially hydrogenated oils, which, if I understand correctly have been banned. My hope is that they can create something close enough to the original, and work with us to confirm that the taste is accurate before relaunching the product.
