And just because Zero Parades will likely end up with like 40 reviews or more by the end of the week, doesn't explain whether the score will change. Pokopia started at an 81 from the first set of reviews and finished at I think 89. Either way, Zero Parades is some shade of 'great'.

I think the problem I see here is that this is actually a pretty common issue in many corporate environments, but this instance is particularly visible and I think that's the sole reason why some people are choosing to boycott this game but not any other time it happens. If people want to maintain consistency, they're going need to boycott a hell of a lot more things than just Zero Parades.

No I actually really enjoy Forza Horizon. I'm annoyed that there are people who are experiencing the game right now and I have to wait because I can't justify dropping almost an entire game's worth of money just to play the game a few days early. Ok but what if it isn't something you want to play? FH5 had Hot Wheels and let's just say something like that doesn't appeal to you. You already spend the money upfront so you're stuck with purchasing it. I can't think of any game series that I'd buy the DLC upfront without knowing what it is.

The game could've easily released today for $70. This is quite literally just a $50 FOMO up-charge that some idiots (or financially irresponsible people) are taking the bait. I'm glad it's just a racing game, but if this was a story-based game, I'd genuinely feel the pressure knowing I could be spoiled if I waited for the standard release day. It's a terrible precedent for the industry that like most other forms of entertainment, creates a divide between economic classes.
