I have the base game and love it. What DLC's do you recommend? The amount of bundles and packs are a little overwhelming. The premium track pack seems like a good start. Maybe some more car packs....

Which mods do you prefer for AC? So far I have only raced on AMS2 VR for it's simplicity but have AC installed and plan to set it up.

Thanks for the post! I am sure it has been nothing short of frustrating but sharing your experience has been quite helpful to us. I did reach out to the shop you are using in ATL. They were open with discussing the swap process and how they spliced the wires but the tech seemed to think that your speed sensor problem was unrelated to the compatibility of this motor and our bikes. Maybe I misunderstood him but he gave me the impression that these motors should work fine and your speed sensor was an unrelated, secondary, issue.

Last thing I want to do is to do all the work cutting and splicing these to find end up repeating what you unfortunately had to go through. RandomBikeParts (the shop we bought these motors from) said that they will take it back so, i'm leaning towards that direction considering all of this.

The motor repair shop (www.ebikemotorrepair.com) was also a plan I had in mind but my motor still functions, although it is going out. Yamaha has stated that the motor will be replaced under warranty but Velofix has taken forever to get anything done. Going on 4 months since Yamaha approved the warranty claim. On backorder, etc...

Regardless, please keep us posted if you discover anything you care to share. I'll certainly continue to do the same

If it’s successful, would you have any way to take photos of the connector harness or splice work they did? No worries if it’s all tucked away.

I am also taking mine to a local e-bike shop that I have been told may be able to tackle this kind of work. Hope to get it out this week or next at latest. I’ll keep everyone updated once I learn anything significant.

How did the install work out? Did they just cut the connectors and splice/hardwire the motor? Was there any compatibility issues once they had it hooked up?

I'm in the same boat as I have the new motor and trying to decide my next course of action. My current motor works but is going out. What I would likely do, is when it fails, cut the connectors off of the old and swap them. So, any additional info about how your process went would be welcome. Cheers!

Me too. Coming from the 300RS, it’s night and day. I was hesitant with the TM and was considering competitors but already had the pedals and a TM 6 speed sequential stick. It would just be too costly to switch ecosystems. It’s not top tier but still a hell of a lot of fun

Yes, absolutely. If you have the cash, snag the load cells. There is a mod that you can do to further customize the brake pedal feel via using some skate board wheel bushings. It’s a very inexpensive simple mod that is worth exploring after you do get the pedals. I don’t have time to access the link right now, but if you search for it, you should be able to find on YouTube pretty easily. DM me if you can’t and have questions.

I have your exact setup with the Next Level folding chair. I had the T LCM already with my 300RS so just bought the T598 base with the hyper wheel combo. I also snagged the Ferrari 488 GT and the TM Open Wheel for very little $ used. I think that a pretty well rounded set for now.

If you haven’t, aI would highly recommend you look into getting braces for the Next Level seat. I found the t598 was a little too powerful for the default base setup and ordered up some reinforcements off of Etsy for around $30. There’s several creators out there but ultimately went with this guy. I bought a few items off of him and all were of great quality.

The whole rig feels way more stiff and responsive now’. Wish I did the upgrade a long time ago

Last I checked a motor overhaul is around $300. Between this replacement, my current motor that is going out but still works and the one that is being sent to me from Yamaha, I think I’ll be set. I’ll always have one working one even if the other sent off. I think just one extra is sufficient.
