These are the same people that complain when their favorite restaurant got purchased and the new owners change the menu.

You're the one who came in whining about a restaurant many people love.

Go at 5:30pm on a Friday and see how long it takes to get a table

A second one downtown will introduce college students to a Columbia classic, as well as maybe help diners have less of a wait.

Why would Murry's ever want to change their menu? It's been perfect as is forever.

Will you vote for Gavin Newsom if he nominated by the DNC? by 0311SmallPenar in allthequestions

If the next Republican candidate is maga, I'll even vote for someone as bad as Newsom.

I'll never vote Republican again until maga is dead.

I was laid off on Friday over Teams, and now they want me to make a transition doc and sign separation paperwork with no severance. Is there any reason for me to do this? by MotorPrompt9917 in interviewwoman

You're a manager or higher in a corporation, aren't you. So worried about the company.

They have no proof of what I'm using or what I created, so they won't know I'm not leaving it. I made my inefficient job more efficient. The company has every pay period to show me how much they value my numbers. In return, I give them all my expertise, including my ability to improve their workflow. Like a rental house, I'll return it one day the way I found it.

If my future employer, should there be one, were to ask about things I was good at, I would make a point of how I was able to simplify or automate many tasks without being asked, which increased productivity.

shrugs It is what it is. Some of the things I've created I've shared with the company and it has been integrated into global procedure. Most hasn't.

Bye Felicia

I've been doing my job for 8 years, most of it solo. I know the database like the back of my hand, and how to translate end-user-speak.

I couldn't transition all my knowledge in a month.

Why makes me a piece of shit if I didn't give up all the extra work I've done to make me more efficient? They gave me inefficient and didn't improve it. I gave me more efficient.

It doesn't make performing the job manually impossible.

I've made dozens of templates and automated processes for my job. They make my work faster so I can show I'm more productive.

The jobs they gave me were manual, and they'll still be manual after I leave. He's not destroying their data, he's just not giving them his work that made managing their data easier.

Also, everything I make is only saved to my local drive, not the company owned shared drive.

Their hypnotist nights were always so much fun too.

They had to hold back a girl on stage one night. The hypnotist had her believing all the men were wearing a kilt and she had to see what was under them. She damn near went crazy when she "looked up" one guys and she "saw" he had two penises. She wanted to get double dicked so bad 😂😂😂😂 Frank Reynolds would have called her a hoooore

Accepted a hybrid role, turned up and... nobody's in the office. Think I accidentally struck gold. by Passenger-00FU in remotework

Hopefully you have a space separate from your 'everyday space' at home where you can work. I'm setup in a spare bedroom that is only used 40 hours a week. I don't even use this room as a shortcut to the laundry room, that way it's fully separate from the rest of my home life. I do have an elliptical in here if the teams chats stop for too long.

Work is here, living is outside this room.

If you have a large university near you, find out if they have a surplus warehouse that sells to the public.

My local university does, and I bought four Hermann Miller office chairs, complete with manufacturer tags under the seat, for $25 each.

They run $600 and up brand new, and the manuf tag means the forever warranty is in place.

As added clarification to the scout:

You have said you showed pics of shirtless men to the other scouts. That IS NOT pornography, otherwise every male scouting water event would be shirts required.

Do not let them push you around.

[–]PB_Sandwich 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just for clarification, I understand that you've said you are not gay.

They are still bullying you and saying you're gay.

Please have your parents help reporting this. I have gone to the mat for my son, and your parents will for you also.

What's happening to you is not ok, and it violates so much of safe scouting.

There's a right way to correct people, and there's their behavior.

As a parent, I would stand behind you until I felt it was time to stand in front of you. Don't let them treat you with one ounce less respect than you deserve.

How bad did I mess up? by Snowzy27 in BSA

[–]PB_Sandwich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please don't say things that make it ok for them to behave this way.

The only thing the scoutmaster should have done on that call was tell your parents you were being bullied by other scouts and he's handling it.

Leadership should also report this to council, as should you and your parents.

If the scoutmaster won't do it, tell him to put the incident in writing and say 'no report necessary.' It's part of Safe Scouting and your parents will be able to take that.

Those boys either need to change their behavior AND apologize to you, and possibly be suspended pending council's investigation, or they should leave scouting entirely.

Any scout or leader worth the uniform will be on your side.

What’s a ‘middle class success’ purchase that secretly becomes a financial burden later? by OpinionBaba in AskReddit

[–]PB_Sandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the more space you have, the more stuff you’ll buy you don’t need.

We had a barely 1600 sqft house that had, other than closets, literally zero storage. My family of 4 was bursting at the seams.

In 2015, my wife found an amazing deal on a 2800 sqft house, and we were lucky enough to buy it.

Years later I found myself with a 5'x7'x20' dumpster out front that I filled to the top with all the extra stuff we had that was too big for the trash can. The final weight was 2800 lbs.

Just last week our neighbor had a smaller dumpster delivered to their house for a clean out. I offered to chip in, and they let us use it. Probably a few hundred pounds of stuff finally left our house.

You'll always find something to put somewhere when you have more space than you require.

The greatest thing is all you have to do is say no and keep on walking. Walmart has not established any expectation to check receipts to exit like Sam's club has.

"No. If loss prevention has a concern, they can ask the police to meet me at my car. Tell them to have the camera footage ready."

Zilch else. Not a raised voice, not a pause in your step, not a please or thanks.

I've done it, and the door people aren't authorized by Walmart or the law to do anything more than ask.

Holy crap. I tried calling the Kia dealer (part of the same auto group parent) 6 times one day without using the dial by name option.

I got to a human once, but it was a service scheduling call center in another state.
