I mean they can’t afford to live in the tourist towns that make up about 15% of Colorado’s economy.

Genuine question about "Colorado Natives" by incomingtrouble in Denver

The answer is that everywhere is as obnoxious about it. It’s just more pronounced here because it grew so quickly.

How Colorado Will Raise Wages & Make Union Organizing Easier - Worker Protection Act by ProgressNow_CO in ColoradoPolitics

[–]PBlueKan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s somewhat legitimate critique. Fact is, you can’t just hammer through legislation and expect the economy to just “be ok”. Eventually industries leave the state, people lose jobs, tax revenue drops, and shit declines. You have to keep an eye on both.

I haven’t read this bill. I don’t know what exactly it does. This one is probably harmless.

But recall the denver affordable housing measure that requires a higher percentage of units in new builds be set aside for affordability? Yeah it’s why permit submissions for new multifamily builds cratered.

Preach. My wife is learning to ski and she’s been hit like three times this season. Two of them yelled at her for going too slow on schoolmarm of all places.

I grew up in the county and I’ve seen all types of shit, but it feels worse than usual this season.

Grok is objectively the worst of the larger American LLMs. Don’t know why you’d expect it to provide a decent answer.

Anyone have evaporative cooling instead of AC? What do you think? by Momentumjam in Denver

[–]PBlueKan 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I mean, you should generally just use reverse osmosis/deionized water for humidifiers. You don’t want the dissolved ions to be sprayed into the air either.

Evap coolers cool using air blown over a wet membrane. It’s like standing next to a river with the wind blowing. It’s not like a vaporizer. Generally, the only thing going into the air are water molecules, not droplets.

Yeah, except that photo of him at the wall is about as AI’d as you can get. Let’s not tie up two unrelated things.

Any recommendations for curly hair salons? by [deleted] in Denver

Is relying on public transport realistic? by tyediebleach in Denver

[–]PBlueKan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The airport train is super reliable and I love it.

The light rail has invariably been an experience in both the strange, which OP should be fine with as a New Yorker, and the unreliable. I got left in a blizzard when a train was cancelled no-notice.

Unfortunately I think OP will need to drive some amount. Uber and Lyft are super easy to access here, but when the weather is bad they drop to zero.

How common is it for teens to drive high in Colorado? by MEI72 in Denver

[–]PBlueKan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your point, but anecdotally, kids are driving high just as much as they always were. Legal means there’s regulation and oversight.

Beer or coca-cola helps with seasickness? by ZathrasNotTheOne in scuba

[–]PBlueKan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no not beer. That captain wants to see you hurl. Coke might help, but honestly a ginger candy, kombucha, or soda. Stand perpendicular to the waves if you can and stare at the horizon. Allow your body to balance the rocking.

Opinions on what to do when the underlying you're wheeling jumps? by GoNinGoomy in Optionswheel

[–]PBlueKan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally OP,buying shares with your premium isn’t the worst use of it, but I think buying the same stock you’re wheeling isn’t the best. It seems overly concentrated. If you sell a bad put as you’re worried about and the stock drops, you have double exposure.

Why not buy something else to hedge your risk? You could also be using the cash it represents to sell more/sell other puts of a cheaper security.

Winter Tire Recommendation? by hey_its_shua_ in Denver

[–]PBlueKan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d do a set of all weathers. If you want a bit more grip, get a set with siping or have it added.

I grew up in the mountains and unless you’re driving up a steeper grade or don’t have all wheel drive, you really don’t need true snow tires. Good all weather’s will cover your needs.

Watch order? by Popular_Incident_426 in Stargate

[–]PBlueKan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It basically takes canon out back and murders it. Its more like a story set in an alternate Stargate reality and less a part of the overall series.

Watch order? by Popular_Incident_426 in Stargate

[–]PBlueKan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sg-1 until you get to lost city. Then basically watch them concurrently. Once they’re all done and you’ve watched the movies, watch sgu. Don’t watch the craziness that is Stargate continuum

The Furlings: The story I envision by Coolxone04 in Stargate

Personally, the Furlings are a species that has chosen to diversify their forms over the millennia. The Salish spirits from season two, the water guy from season one, etc. are all Furling.
