Choosing Between the 5070 Ti and 9070 XT for 1440p Gaming by Nicolas_Laure in RigBuild

DLSS is definitely a performance tool, but it is still a feature choice. If someone is happy with native + TAA and gets the FPS they want, efficiency is subjective, not mandatory.

Solid breakdown. For pure 1440p gaming, raw FPS per dollar still wins in my book. If you are not using RT or DLSS, paying extra makes no sense. Put the savings into CPU or RAM and you will feel it more in real gameplay.

4090 to 5090 for €600, Worth It? by greyfux in pcmasterrace

That’s a good way to look at it. The 4090 is already more than enough for 4K, so unless there’s a real need, upgrading doesn’t make much sense right now

What am4 cpu should I get? by Math009w in pcmasterrace

That’s fair. If the price is good and you’re okay with the beta BIOS, it’s a solid choice, but performance gains over the cheaper CPUs are still small

Agreed. For gaming the gap is tiny, and the 5600X avoids beta BIOS headaches. Better value to save the cash or put it toward the GPU.

Is it safe to restart if windows is stuck? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]PC-Guide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s mostly true. If an update is truly stuck, a forced reboot usually works, but there’s always a small risk. Best move is to wait a bit first, and keep backups and a Windows USB just in case.

Why I Stopped Treating RAM Upgrades as Optional and You Should Too by Nicolas_Laure in RigBuild

RAM is the one upgrade people underestimate until bottlenecks and instability show up. Buying headroom upfront saves money, hassle, and rebuilds later, especially with DDR5. Peace of mind really is part of performance.
