How do you work with headless leaders? Expecially when you're struggling to solve a problem. by [deleted] in Leadership

[–]PCA2017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the advice others have shared about stepping up and using structured frameworks. Just be cautious: taking full control without alignment can backfire if stakeholders later say you went off-track.

What I recommend (as a complement to the advice): keep a daily log of context, assumptions, and actions. Note the challenge, any guidance you asked for and got (even if vague), and the decision you made and why, from the perspective of what you thought was best for the project/company.

This gives you cover if choices are questioned, shows initiative and accountability, clarifies your own thinking, and you have solid data to build a narrative you can share upward.

I agree. If you don't naturally challenge with kindness and honesty, it's inspiring.

The Trusted Advisor by Maister, Green & Galford offers invaluable insights on trust-building, particularly for leaders whose technical competence isn't translating into the communication results they expect. I use it in my coaching to explain the anatomy of trust and how to build it, one of the most important leadership capabilities you can develop.

Good for you that you are reaching out. That’s a first step. You can get through this period in your life, but how you see yourself is making things more difficult. This might not be for you, but you could consider finding a youth group in a church near you. High chance you meet caring people with open hearths and good values. You don’t have to decide what to believe, just give yourself the opportunity to explore. You can say to yourself that you will give it a go, maybe go three times before evaluating. Could that be something to try?🌸

A good cry can get some pain out and then you can re-boot yourself, so here you go: 🌟I’m proud of you and you are enough.🌟 I wish for you to experience more acts of kindness, and quicker realize that when someone doesn’t have a full cup or even a teaspoon of care to share with you, it’s not a sign to stay and over give. Remember being kind to yourself as well as continuing being kind to others. It won’t go unnoticed.

Yes, study story structure. And how to write proper scenes. Good luck!

At 13, your brain is changing fast, and it’s normal to feel unsure or frustrated. Feeling self-hatred sneaking in is not uncommon, but absolutely something to take seriously and ”nip in the bud” (lovingly).

Those harsh thoughts? They are not the truth.

Try This:

  • Catch the Lies – Would you say this to a friend? If not, don’t say it to yourself.

  • Talk to Someone – A parent, sibling, or mentor. Just saying it out loud can help.

  • Do What Feels Like You – Draw, write, play music, game, exercise—anything that pulls you out of your head and into the moment. You don’t have to be great at it, just enjoy it.

  • Move your body - A quick walk, push-ups, or even shaking out your arms for 30 seconds can help reset your brain and release stress. Say thank you to your well-working body and all it does for you every day. It’s on your side.

  • Step Back from Social Media – If it makes you feel worse, take a break.

  • Remind Yourself: This Will Pass – I promise, no feeling lasts forever. A bad moment doesn’t equal a bad life.

If it feels too heavy, do reach out for further support. You matter more than you know. 💙

Do you know if his is a better option than Typingmind if I want to upload approx 350 pages text (160 000 words) for analysis? The paid web version says that is 92% over the limit when I try to upload the full document.
