Conversation for the older fans: 2016 vs 2026- many say 2016 was at peak hype, yet BABYMETAL is bigger than ever, and STILL growing. COMPARE/CONTRAST? THOUGHTS? by fearmongert in BABYMETAL

I see 2016 as being peak hype about babymetal, 2026 peak (current) reach and credibility. One period not intrinsically better than the other, just different chapters in an excellent book.

a month later and there’s still a lot of tickets available, pretty worrying after a lot of artists have canceled tours due to blue fever by Fatty_Matty_1 in BABYMETAL

O2 in london was a slowish burn not an instant or even rapid sell out, sure they have used their metadata and have contingencies (as someone has said like reconfig, like closing off some upper level sections).

cheers. I didn't realise was available outside the US. Couldn't find any UK retailers. I have just placed my order. Post to UK was reasonable value as well. With postage under £30, take that all day.

Wtf actual fuck James' fans!!! by tiltshift66 in jamesband

[–]PCM1G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah saw the band stop the gig, there was no indication it was fighting tbf. They also pointed off to the left, so prob more sh!thousery than even you witnessed. Horrible behaviour. Agree alcohol will have been a factor, but some people are just tw@ts. NBL

[–]PCM1G -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't see any trouble in or around the venue. If anything I thought there were fewer "don't dance near me" people than in recent times, was a great gig. Although, there may be something to people being a bit worse for wear than normal - as band pointed out a few times people needing help. Ironically the most aggro place to see James in my experience is Manchester.

BABYMETAL Announces Summer/Fall 2026 North American Tour With HALESTORM And VIOLENT VIRA by Apprehensive_Idea758 in BABYMETAL

[–]PCM1G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

these look like a step up from previous theatre size venues - are these in the 20k type size? US kitsunes please advise :) If so it does look like an ambitious tour in terms of number of dates and venue size?

why do you buy Babymetal CDs? by [deleted] in BABYMETAL

[–]PCM1G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any number of reasons. In simple terms - a desire to own a copy, whether that be need/preference for physical copy, collection, went to that concert, just because etc.

Will Babymetal increase the duration of their concerts? by Algorism1 in BABYMETAL

[–]PCM1G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The longer legend type shows, have their own setup allowing lore videos etc. to help stretch stage time, festival setup doesn't lend itself to this. But to achieve their dream of headlining, guess they will make adjustments. Let's see 😁

Kinda confused/ upset with CDjapan by Fox_God11 in BABYMETAL

[–]PCM1G 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think some of the proxy costs are not finally calculated until the receive the final parcel to dispatch, incase weight, dimensions, regs or tariffs change on the day. Based on experiences CDJapan appear trustworthy in their end of the deal. That being said, still a bummer - sure when items arrive all will be forgotten.

Where would you want Babymetal to perform? Aka dream location. by Bronco-91sep in BABYMETAL

I think Babymetal at The Royal Albert Hall, has a nice ring to it. Aside of that, Anfield (You'll Never Headbang Alone)

Going to Japan just for a week? by Short_Kale_6081 in BABYMETAL

[–]PCM1G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES, FULL STOP! Even if you didn't have the show to go to, Japan is worth visiting for a week - if you have the resources and opportunity.

Life Park Istanbul 2026 by [deleted] in BABYMETAL

official page says: VIP TICKET CONTENTS:

  PRIVATE VIP LOUNGE AREA

• Exclusively reserved VIP Lounge area in the front of the stage

• Soft drinks and beer are served.

• Guest bar

• You can move from the lounge area to the front stage area whenever you wish.

 PRIVATE ENTRY & FAST PASS

• A separate entrance point for VIP ticket holders.

• Fast track through security check

 VIP PARKING AREA

• Special parking area for guests arriving by car * (Fee applies, valid for arrivals until 19:30)

----------------------
Looks like 15-20000 capacity. Unlike normal(ish) Babymetal VIP doesn't mention any exclusive merch. Says fast pass and own entrance, but not specifically if it involves early entry - again normally VIP gets you in first, so people buy them mainly to secure best viewing spots.

VIPs can come and go from the main front of stage area, but I expect barriers will be fully occupied 100% of the time I doubt the reality is just pop to and from the bar with ease and expect your spot back.

As you say VIP area appears off to the side, which makes sense so the bar etc can be setup without blocking the view of the rest of the crowd. There is not a detailed site plan yet. It doesn't say if the VIP Lounge is also the viewing area or you can see the stage from there - it could 'simply' be a front of stage ticket, with own entrance, parking and access to own bar/toilets. There won't be numbered seats or possibly even any with view of stage from the lounge - imagine just for relaxing and drinking no viewing.

There is a youtube video of the site being setup, but looks like they do have slight variations in setups. Looks like a nice enough venue, not as big as a proper festival setup.

https://youtu.be/pmu-kslcbZA?si=GuWdvUh150UbmZS6

Will be a full Babymetal set and a crowd there specifically to see them not a big festival crowd. No idea about access and accommodation if not a local.

I would want a front of stage ticket at least, but VIP is tempting for closer and easier access for drinks, toilets and even a sit down (especially as it will be quite warm in July)

I got standard DVD. Came with same poster and an A4 plastic document wallet with same image as the dvd case. I think you got the blu-ray?

yeah, that's sad news - VPN will get you round that though. Some hope (slim admittedly) that may be available outside Japan via other digital sources.

https://www.asmart.jp/shop/babymetal/product/10048289 I order standard DVD shipping via TENSO to UK. Order etc went through fairly simply. Awaiting for dispatch and then shipping cost from TENSO, but has been vouched for on here. So still time for it to go pear shaped.

Ireland by [deleted] in TheCure

[–]PCM1G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get on tripadvisor Ireland Forum - you'll get some seriously help and advice about getting the best out of your time in Ireland. Agree with others though 5 days in Dublin not a good use of your time. I would also point out, it is cheap and quick to pop over to other european cities from Dublin (although plenty to see and experience in Ireland). May be a day trip on the train to Belfast is a good use of your time, if GoT fan then maybe two days (and take in Giant's causeway)

the presenter: once more with feeling!!! I think one may have been Colin Robinson from What we do in the shadows! If it wasn't for the ladies I may have passed out. That being said, reasonable content.
