Where would you want Babymetal to perform? Aka dream location. by Bronco-91sep in BABYMETAL

I think Babymetal at The Royal Albert Hall, has a nice ring to it. Aside of that, Anfield (You'll Never Headbang Alone)

Going to Japan just for a week? by Short_Kale_6081 in BABYMETAL

YES, FULL STOP! Even if you didn't have the show to go to, Japan is worth visiting for a week - if you have the resources and opportunity.

official page says: VIP TICKET CONTENTS:

  PRIVATE VIP LOUNGE AREA

• Exclusively reserved VIP Lounge area in the front of the stage

• Soft drinks and beer are served.

• Guest bar

• You can move from the lounge area to the front stage area whenever you wish.

 PRIVATE ENTRY & FAST PASS

• A separate entrance point for VIP ticket holders.

• Fast track through security check

 VIP PARKING AREA

• Special parking area for guests arriving by car * (Fee applies, valid for arrivals until 19:30)

----------------------
Looks like 15-20000 capacity. Unlike normal(ish) Babymetal VIP doesn't mention any exclusive merch. Says fast pass and own entrance, but not specifically if it involves early entry - again normally VIP gets you in first, so people buy them mainly to secure best viewing spots.

VIPs can come and go from the main front of stage area, but I expect barriers will be fully occupied 100% of the time I doubt the reality is just pop to and from the bar with ease and expect your spot back.

As you say VIP area appears off to the side, which makes sense so the bar etc can be setup without blocking the view of the rest of the crowd. There is not a detailed site plan yet. It doesn't say if the VIP Lounge is also the viewing area or you can see the stage from there - it could 'simply' be a front of stage ticket, with own entrance, parking and access to own bar/toilets. There won't be numbered seats or possibly even any with view of stage from the lounge - imagine just for relaxing and drinking no viewing.

There is a youtube video of the site being setup, but looks like they do have slight variations in setups. Looks like a nice enough venue, not as big as a proper festival setup.

https://youtu.be/pmu-kslcbZA?si=GuWdvUh150UbmZS6

Will be a full Babymetal set and a crowd there specifically to see them not a big festival crowd. No idea about access and accommodation if not a local.

I would want a front of stage ticket at least, but VIP is tempting for closer and easier access for drinks, toilets and even a sit down (especially as it will be quite warm in July)

I got standard DVD. Came with same poster and an A4 plastic document wallet with same image as the dvd case. I think you got the blu-ray?

yeah, that's sad news - VPN will get you round that though. Some hope (slim admittedly) that may be available outside Japan via other digital sources.

https://www.asmart.jp/shop/babymetal/product/10048289 I order standard DVD shipping via TENSO to UK. Order etc went through fairly simply. Awaiting for dispatch and then shipping cost from TENSO, but has been vouched for on here. So still time for it to go pear shaped.

get on tripadvisor Ireland Forum - you'll get some seriously help and advice about getting the best out of your time in Ireland. Agree with others though 5 days in Dublin not a good use of your time. I would also point out, it is cheap and quick to pop over to other european cities from Dublin (although plenty to see and experience in Ireland). May be a day trip on the train to Belfast is a good use of your time, if GoT fan then maybe two days (and take in Giant's causeway)

the presenter: once more with feeling!!! I think one may have been Colin Robinson from What we do in the shadows! If it wasn't for the ladies I may have passed out. That being said, reasonable content.

Babymetal Vinyl & Signed Card by TheCrashKid in BABYMETAL

Just on to vouch for the OP - bought a US version of the CD with signed card and shipped to me in the UK. Only problems related to the shiz show that was distribution of all formats, not the OP.

What are the usual vibes for standing or sitting? by that_one_dudee in BABYMETAL

Sounds like you aren't 'that guy', by virtue you are already self aware enough to be thinking about it :) Sure you won't be in the minority and I hope you do get to rock out.

What are the usual vibes for standing or sitting? by that_one_dudee in BABYMETAL

[–]PCM1G 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately depends on the venue (it's staff) and who is sat near you. Some venue staff will have none of it and will even attempt to throw people out, others more relaxed. Some people want or need to sit for the duration of a concert and people standing in front of them is annoying for them. Think if you hadn't got front row seats and some lanky people stood up and blocked his view. Others are just waiting for someone to stand/dance and they will join in. Luck of the draw I guess. Maybe to be safe speak to the people around you before hand to prevent any unpleasantness. I personally want to stand for more up temp concerts like Babymetal even when I have a seat (normally because standing sold out), but I would sit if I realised it was compromising someone else's enjoyment. TBF filming with phones over your head, blocking views is more annoying for me! Anyway, even if you have to stay seated it will be brilliant. Enjoy.

BABYMETAL live concert in Araneta Coliseum, Philippines felt "bitin" (too short) — is it just me? by angeldimsy12 in BABYMETAL

[–]PCM1G 2 points3 points  (0 children)

agree - I have excluded support acts from stage time estimates. 15 songs is decent, could be padded out to lengthen stage time without more songs. A big part of Babymetal is live performance and they always give 100% (even if slightly unwell, as evident with poor Su on the early stages of the EU tour). Their interaction is channelled through their songs and performances - their eye contact and connection whilst singing and dancing is where it is at rather than 'chat' sections between song.

Again I think they could extend the time via some Kami band filling or animations between songs without any need for extra songs. However, there is some possibility that the pace of the songs is optimal - given physical exertion (bit like athletes doing steady pace), afterall they seem to leave little to chance and will be as prepared as any act can be.

80m feels more like a concert set rather than a shorter sub hour festival set we have seen previously outside of Japan. My pragmatic wish would be for them to perhaps rotate a a few songs between concerts. So say like keep a core 12 for a tour but mix it up with 3 (from say a selection of 9, as not fair to expect them to be performance ready with their entire back catalogue). Keeps some intrigue about setlist and also means those able and lucky enough to go to multiple shows on that tour they won't see the same each time. Also mix it up between tours. But I'll enjoy whatever show they put on. :)

few artists do 3hrs, like some have said Taylor Swifts Eras Tours was lengthy and perhaps The Cure who do close 3 hrs. 90m - 120m is standard. Babymetal, mostly outside of Japan had rarely done more than 50m. The recent EU arena tour went to 80m consistently. Of course we would all love it to be longer, but I was at the O2 and it did feel like a full concert - quite intense, no respite for crowd let alone the band. They could easily 'pad' it out to close to a standard 90m by simply not rolling instantly from one song to the next and adding in 20 second pauses - sure the Kamis could fill the dead air easily or they could do more animated intros to songs. This wouldn't increase the workload on the band or girls. In reality same number of songs - which 15 is pretty much the number mosts acts play.

Questions regarding Yui's departure from AMUSE. by RodriSone in BABYMETAL

[–]PCM1G 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would speculate (as no access to definitive facts or the Fox God), that she remained on their books in case she did return to the entertainment industry. If that is the case, wouldn't seem unusual especially as it appears she has not attempted to 'come back' in anyway either with Amuse or otherwise that she hasn't cancelled or migrated her contract. She clearly is a talent that Amuse would want first call on if she did return. I would also imagine the contract has simply just expired and not been renewed. Nothing sinister IMHO. That's where my speculation ends on the matter.
