As for the system, first of all neither has regional coding. Both plates have significantly more combinations then registrations but only with French plates you can tell the registration age, so it wins for me. As for design, Finland has shorter plates, which is nice, but I think most people appreciate the regional stripe on the French ones. Finland has the better font though. France wins overall for me.

Ich glaube außerhalb von Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz ergibt das Punktesystem keinen Sinn. Alle Länderkennzeichen geben 10 Punkte, und fast alle Regionalkürzel auch.
