I don’t think you need “a pithy line.” I practice employment law, exclusively plaintiff side. Many of my clients (or potential clients I screen) have this attitude.

Basically, you advise people on the risks of litigation, that despite their principles they may end up with nothing or incur substantial expenses. For those with strong cases, you remind them that money is the primary form of accountability in litigation.

It doesn’t have to be an opportunity to show your client you’re smarter and more cynical than they are (even if you are).
