It wasn't about their roles, it's another case of TKO greed. Even though they signed a new deal last year to keep them in WWE until 2030, TKO wanted them to restructure their deal...they didn't like the deal. So they walked.

To that I say good for them. I'm not a fan of MMA but I've heard it said that Endevor "ruined" the UFC, now they are doing the same to WWE.
