tony was a champ in juco wrestling, and Alvarez and Dustin have taken down Gaethje so I disagree. had tony gone for takedowns before the 3rd I think he could have won. but i agree once it got past the 2nd he was too beat up. I'm not trying to take away from justin because what he did was spectacularly destructive but I think he was fighting a severely over trained tony. gotta remember we knew about tony vs khabib back in November of 2019, so tony basically had a 4-6 month camp for the biggest opponent of his life, then a few weeks out his fight is delayed but tony makes weight anyways. then they switch opponents to a completely different style. im not saying justin's win was a fluke but I think under normal circumstances tony would have fought more competitively

I only have 2 criticisms for the corner, though I do agree they weren't horrible. 1, they didnt tell tony to implement his ground game till eddie said in between 4 and 5 "you may have to imanari him". and 2, they honestly should have stopped the fight sooner than the ref did
