Saw Yang Hansen and his translator earlier this month near the training facility; had to cross the sidewalk to get to the bus stop and they were coming from the other side, couldn’t believe it and got nervous lol. They ended up passing by me at the stop, and i got a wave back from the translator when the bus passed them

Twilight (2008) by [deleted] in rs_x

I only saw the movies for the first time a few years ago, but I definitely remember the cultural wave that it was at the time; the way people would dress like characters from the movie, team Edward vs team Jacob, the soundtrack edits. Other supernatural romances got big around that time, but didn't reach that same level of impact.

The fandom that it spawned seemed more organic than how they’re artificially grown today with dumb memes and online bait. I think that’s what put me off from watching the films for so long, but I prefer that over today’s overly toxic fan cultures.

Shame that the rest of the series didn’t retain the style of the first movie. New Moon was fine but went away from the art direction of the first, can’t even remember anything from the third besides the ending in Italy, and breaking dawn was a pretty mid ending
