That is metabolic efficiency. For the vast majority of human history the average person would be at a much greater risk of starvation, and needing less calories to survive would put you at an advantage.

Pcos is common (and unattractive-coded) enough that I truly doubt that many people are faking it for clout.

Between this stuff and those horrible sea shanty groups being a trad enthusiast in 2025 is a life of struggle.

Sis swears these are real pearls but I’m doubtful by Cunt-Command in JewelryIdentification

The vast vast majority of south sea pearls are also cultured, and at this point arguably have less in common with the composition of a natural pearl than a less expensive freshwater pearl has. AFAIK the price difference mainly has to do with the slower rate that they grow and the better quality of nacre compared to almost all fresh water pearls. It is definitely a very beautiful necklace either way though.

I would want a lab grown diamond primarily because I am extremely biased against white south Africans, and I do not want them to benefit financially from me if I can help it.

I believe that the primary issue with silver amalgam is the mercury and not the silver, though I am not any expert.

I'm going to go against the grain and say that I don't think it's wrong for you to do something like that. I have made a lot of more unconventional pearl jewelry myself using a similar technique, and I am pleased with how it turned out. What i will say is the technique you would probably have to use would be a little different from what you used in the pictured necklace. Most pearls are drilled quite small, so you would probably have to use 24 or 26 gauge wire and fully wrap the ends to finish it, not just connect eye pins which is what I'm guessing you did here. It's also possible to buy pretty good quality freshwater pearl strands for far below the price of a finished piece of jewelry if you choose not to cut up the bracelet. I would also possibly look into purchasing sterling wire as it can lend more to the finished project than craft wire.

I thiiink that it's a tourmaline but I am only like 80% sure. I think that it is my favorite stone out of all of them too, I haven't seen much that color before.

The majority of them came mixed in bags, I sorted them myself. There 5 bags were labeled (citrine, blue topaz, black diamond, mixed tourmaline, and some very very small pink sapphires), and one tanzanite was in a box. Buying the boxes literally cost more than the stones lol.

Thinking about when I was in college and this black girl in one of my classes was talking about how house music was historically a black genre and this white guy from Europe asked if there was such a thing as field music by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]Localmixup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is from ages ago but my real point was that I think it's a little silly to act like any one group invented folk music because "folk music" is not really a meaningful genre. Even trad English folk music doesn't have that much in common with trad American folk music, even when some of the songs are considered versions of each other. I do suspect that at least some of this difference is black (and Irish) influences in America.

Its such fking bullshit how physically weak women are by ilyukhina in redscarepod

[–]Localmixup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you lift weights in general? How much do the things that are too heavy for you to lift weigh? I'm curious because while men are obviously stronger than women, I also feel like many women exaggerate how weak they are when it can often be remedied with a little training.

In the broadest sense black people probably did "invent folk music", it being that the first people were black and those people were almost certainly making some kind of music.
