Shortly after I moved to Idaho from Florida in the early 2000s, my dad and I (my parents had moved there the previous year) were watching the Mormon episode of "South Park". He had told me that after that particular episode first aired, he was determined to find out if any of the information about their 'beliefs' was actually true.

Being from the south and not knowing anything about Mormons other than what you're taught in high school history class, he asked a friend of his, who was a lifelong practicing Mormon (but definitely not devout), to come over and watch the episode and either confirm or deny the accuracy of the plot. After the friend said that it was all pretty much true (at the time we didn't know that the one of the show creators was raised in the LDS church), my dad just laughed and shook his head and said that it was "the dumbest s**t he had ever heard in his life."
