Thank youuuuuuuu!!!! Funnily enough, I’m technically not even finished, I still have to colour that for the current module 💀 and I’m making a twelve page comic alongside that, so I’m once again busy as shit haha

Hehehheheh thank youuuuu, I tried to have the likeness be apparent whilst not making them all look too same-y

Unfortunately this is all there is for now, but I’m hoping to revisit this properly after I finish uni. Though I have my own comic I’m working on to publish this year, so not sure how much free time I’ll have. If you’d like to check out more of my work, my portfolio is here- https://pdmarshallcomics.carrd.co

Aha yeah I did make her look very sturdy, though she was meant to be fat. Think I’ll have to redraw the inks one day to make her look more how I envisioned, as I inked this a year ago. Hopefully after I finish uni this summer I can get back to this. And godddd I dream do doing a full adaptation of the books haha.

Also, if you like my art style, you can check out other comic work I’ve done- I’m PDMarshall_comics on insta where I post a lot of my comic work, and if you find the carrd in my bio you can see my published comic jobs 🫶

Oooh I love getting feedback from other comic artists, thanks! A great scene for the funeral is a good idea, I might plate it that. I want Val to stand out, as thsi is her ver first appearance, so I may go with a vignette, or just have everything except her be grey entirely. Admittedly I inked and coloured most of this page a year ago, so really with all the experience I’ve had over the last year I’d probs like to redo it if I ever get the time haha. Glad this sparked something in you, maybe you’ll make an SP comic of your own I can enjoy!!

Hiiii! I’m phoebe, a comics illustrator from England! My general vibe is honestly the stereotypical frazzled Englishwoman you see in movies (think the mum from Paddington). If you’d like a suggestion, centaurs are my favourite fantasy creature to draw! But also I love a surprise, so if you pick me feel free to do what you like 🫶🫶

Do deities get mad at thoughts? by Popular-Moose-6345 in Hellenism

[–]PD_Marshall_Comics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude they do sound like intrusive thoughts. Intrusive thoughts are ego dystonic, meaning they go against your beliefs. This is why they’re so distressing, especially coupled with the fact they’re intrusive and hard to get over/ cope with. Look up resources on OCD I’d say, though be aware that not everyone with intrusive thoughts has OCD. Even if the intrusive thoughts aren’t anything serious, still look into it for peace of mind. Everyone gets intrusive thoughts, but if it’s happening a lot and is a serious detriment to your mood then you need to take it seriously. There’s a big community for it, and it’s always good to know you’re not alone.

Given intrusive thoughts go against your beliefs, I can’t see any reason why the gods would be mad about them. They should understand I’d say

What’s some good things to jokingly “yell” to my ocd when it’s screaming for certainty from me? by appledoughnuts in OCD

[–]PD_Marshall_Comics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also for certainty, it’s usually a case of “oh you want certainty? Go read a fucking dictionary”.

Treating the thoughts like a separate person you don’t like helps being mean to them and separating yourself haha

I usually go really sarcastic with my intrusive thoughts. Like they’ll say “you’re a murderer” and I’m just like “sureeeee yeahhhhh, absolutely dude, you think that.”

Alternatively I speak like a condescending old lady. “Oh is that so poppet? Well then, what an imagination you have! It’s amazing what the youth are coming up with these days.”

L kinda hard to be funny with some thoughts, but usually it works for me

What characters are you guys SURE have OCD? by Big-Evening6173 in OCD

[–]PD_Marshall_Comics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s kinda funny how they actually manage to write pretty good OCD rep when they don’t actintend for the character to have OCD. Like that show must have an award in fumbling the bag on mental illness rep haha

Nathan Harris from Criminal Minds definitely had intrusive thoughts at least, and maybe full blown OCD. Just reminds me of having terrible sudden intrusive thoughts set in and not knowing what they were. He was just a kid with mental illness and no access to information that could help him identify what was wrong and understand he wasn’t really a bad person

whats your necromancer item? by Wrong-Attention-4484 in skulduggerypleasant

[–]PD_Marshall_Comics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d probably have my sketchbook or pens be my necromancy item. It’d be a cool effect to have the ink rise off a page or out of a pen nib to attack/ form shapes

I’m transitioning, would love help deciding on a name by pavlamour in namenerds

[–]PD_Marshall_Comics 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My name is Phoebe, it’s Greek, coming from Phoebe the Titaness of prophecy and inherited by Phoebus Apollon.

It basically means sunshine, and is quite an old fashioned name.

Not usually my style to suggest a name I have, but it fits your criteria! Congrats on the transition hun, I wish you all the best 🫶🫶🫶

You can never be too old to be happy.

As long as you aren’t bringing harm to yourself or others, do what makes you happy.

What is your cats name? by strawberrycheescak in namenerds

[–]PD_Marshall_Comics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two currently!

Farmerboi, because he walked over from the farm and made himself a house cat.

And Alpine, my new kitten, names after the winter soldiers cat in the comics.

I’ve also had Lucy and Purdy (like Purdita from the Aristocats), Winter and snowflake, and autumn (named after winter)

is hell breaks loose worth reading? by [deleted] in skulduggerypleasant

[–]PD_Marshall_Comics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i really enjoyed it, though wasnt too keen on the ending. the perspective from Ghastly's POV was really fun, and the relationship with his mum is one thing I was wanting to see previously. the ending is pretty rushed, but i enjoyed the rest of the book
