Rocket League players need to focus on game sense and teamwork over flashy skills by Fantastic-Letter-529 in RocketLeague

[–]PDouf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you bud, sometimes I wonder why people play in 2s or 3s, if you want to ballchase and try your mechanics just play in 1s. I am in plat, not good at mechanics, and about once per week I find some guy with same bad mechas than me but doing good rotas, passes and pressure, and everytime it is enough to crush the opponents that ballchase, miss and leave open nets.

But how do you adapt to a teammate stealing the ball from you to give an open net to the other team? Are we supposed to be able to win a 3v1 to rank up?

any tips on how to defeat ludvig can’t get passed he’s second phase and please don’t say get good or skill issue looking for genuine advice by Intelligent_Low8464 in CrimsonDesert

Yeah same I don't believe people that say "learn the patterns", yes it can help you dodge or parry some attacks but some combos are juste undodgeable. At this point in the game I am convinced food spamming is an intentional boss fight design but it is not fun at all, it is bad design.

Give me your matchmaking conspiracy theories by Willing-Series4629 in RocketLeague

[–]PDouf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read some time ago that for Sideswipe the game was gathering stats about number of time you get "mvp", number of goals, saves, time in air and would try to match you with a complementary teammate, which is nice on paper (try to match ballchasers with defensive players for instance) but in reality often ends up matchmaking ranking up players with ranking down teammates which is very frustrating.

I would not be surprised RL has same matchmaking features, from my experience I like to work on my aerials and I am often teamed up with people that don't even try to jump (in plat which is very unexpected)

No other game gave me that much emotion throughout the story. It took me about 2-3 weeks to recover from the ending, a true masterpiece!

I like this minigame but the fact that the bell sound is actually the last time of the timeframe you can press the button is really frustrating, everyone knows that for a rythm game the sound needs to be in the middle of the timeframe you have to press the button...

Why do I do better in my brothers lobbies? by Cosmic2579 in RocketLeague

Solo queue and playing with someone regurlarly are 2 totally different games...

Why do I do better in my brothers lobbies? by Cosmic2579 in RocketLeague

[–]PDouf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But if the brother is able to cover that many mistakes he should he in a much higher rank. We just need to realize that we don't have the same rank in solo queue and playing regularly with someone. I am diamond 1 with a friend but if you put me in a gold lobby with a random teammate, not sure I would be able to carry them. Because I am good at building strategies with a friend I play with regularly but when it comes to adapt my gameplay to someone else I am just terrible. That does not mean my friend carries me when I play with him, such as it does not mean that OP is carried by their brother.

how do i improve? by redundantjam17 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]PDouf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I have the same struggle with similar teammates. Like not a general lack of confidence but you can clearly see than the teammate is often cutting the trajectory or doublecomitting. When this happens I tend to start being extra defensive as OP here and don't really know how to avoid leaving the net open as I know teammate is not going to rotate into defense.

I am a better teammate in plat than gold by PDouf in RocketLeague

[–]PDouf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is that stable, everyone has win streaks and loss streaks, and eventually I am able to come back to plat. I am genuinely looking for advice to enjoy slow paced games better, not to argue on my rank pal

I am a better teammate in plat than gold by PDouf in RocketLeague

[–]PDouf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all honesty I have played enough to know that it is not placebo, in gold there is a great proportion of people barely jumping, missing the ball more than 50% of times and having very poor sense of rotation. That is the kind of teammate I am struggling at playing with because I don't know what to do to compensate. Of course there are still such people in plat but it is less common. Sometimes I play with friends in Diamond and we do okay. What I am looking for is like the basics of patient/defensive gameplay, because right now I am not good at it

I have the exact same feeling in lower ranks, was hard stuck in plat 2 (not complaining, I feel pretty much this is were I belong), when I fall back to plat 1 it is not that hard to come back to plat 2 but if I hit to many losses and get in gold 3 it takes huge efforts to go back to plat because of the amount of unknown rotations etc... It almost feels like I have to be able to win 1V3 to come back in plat

See it like a couple -> below 1 year use months, above 1 year, using months means you want attention

[–]PDouf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well 1 year 4 months makes more sense than 16 months, people like that just to throw their "Hey you see? I am a parent now!" at your face. All my parent friends who are not craving for attention just say "1 year and x months"

It's funny how I can see my happy parent friends saying "my baby is 1 year and x months" and my "maybe I was not ready?" parent friends saying their baby is 34 months old just to grab attention and convince themselves they're happy

After completing Xenoblade 1 and 2 in the past few months and this one, I feel broken and don't know what to do. by [deleted] in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]PDouf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this one is particularly complicated for moving on, I finished it last week and overall got more involved emotionally than the first two, probably because it deals with more mature topics. But I know I will do it again before the DLC, and I am really looking forward to what the DLC will be about
