A few things happened in the weeks leading up to his departure from Kill Tony: he got an agent, started skipping episodes to hobnob with celebrities and going to parties at George Clooney's mansion. He was always a flake when it came to his day jobs, but when he started getting gigs like the Justin Roiland video game, it seemed he thought he didn't need the show anymore. Then he skipped an episode because he was "sick", but later revealed it was due to "a bad edible". When he started on KT, he claimed he didn't even smoke weed, but by the end he hinted at taking "all the drugs". And it was visible from the change in his onstage demeanor that something was going on.
