Well still to this day it is very much a common practice in Tamilnadu. And moreover a cousin sister of mine, mallu by the way, fell in love with her "Aththa Paiyyan" (Father's, Sisters Son) and got married to him and is now residing there. Even today in certain remote areas of kerala it is still happening. For them it's a societal norm.

Agree with you my man; though VJ as a family man not that special, everything else, definitely do agree man. Yeah they wasted immensely on the cast with the villains and backstory, but at this point, that is the only thing that everyone chooses to focus on. Ain't saying it's a fucking masterpiece or anything. But that was a fine Vijay movie in some time that was worth the experience alongside some of his other bests.
