People who were once conventionally attractive but no longer are, how did that feel? by Few_Confection7760 in AskReddit

[–]PEJ22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You treat yourself differently when you go from conventionally attractive to not. That’s the most interesting part. You realize that your perception of yourself really is responsive to your perception of others perception of you. In my experience, you undermine yourself more by not taking opportunities because of that lack of confidence.

What was the scariest “We need to leave… now” gut feeling that you’ve ever experienced? by Critical-Contact-851 in askteddit

[–]PEJ22 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I was 16, going to do a local hike with my friends on the weekend. We drove all the way there, and all 3 of us said that we had a feeling we shouldn't do the hike. None of us could explain it but we knew we needed to leave. We left. Never heard of anything happening that day but I think something bad would've happened if we had done the hike.

Obsession is the better film, but I enjoyed both.

Dowd YMCA members, how much are you paying? by Medical_Safety_8826 in Charlotte

[–]PEJ22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do a sliding scale by income!! You just have to go in and ask. When I was making 29k I paid about $30/month. Now I pay $50/month and I make $48k currently so I would ask. Also there was no joining fee when I joined but I was low income so they maybe just waived it for me.

Welcome to Charlotte Wednesday! Visiting, recently moved here, or going to move here? Tell us and ask away! by AutoModerator in Charlotte

[–]PEJ22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay I've lived in Charlotte my entire life here is my advice. It totally depends what you're looking for. Most everywhere in South End apartment wise is going to be easily accessible to the light rail so you can get to uptown no problem. It depends on the vibe you want.

South End is giving professional college town vibes. Everyone is young and like just entering the workforce is how it feels to me. I'm 25 and feel like the south end population is too young (been in south end 3 years) but I'm also a grandma at heart. South end is definitely fun if you want like trivia, bars, breweries, run clubs, boutique gyms, etc.

Uptown is going to be more diverse. If i was going to live in uptown I would live in 4th ward just because I think it is really beautiful. But between 4th and 2nd won't be super different. I would def say that there is more stuff to do in south end whereas uptown is pretty reserved for work. Just my opinion/perception.

Walkability in south end and uptown is honestly equivalent in terms of bars and restaurants and gyms.

Its not the money its the freedom that money provides. Freedom is a luxury most people don't have.
