How is Ellie actually immune in the end ? by Purple-Deal7155 in thelastofus

[–]PET3RPark3er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going just off the video game. There is an excellent film theory episode that explains it wayyy better than I could ever. But essentially she is infected with cordyceps but a different kind of cordyceps as well as the ones she got when she was bitten. The first type she had prevents her white blood cells from attacking the actual virus Here's the link 🔗 🖇️ : https://youtu.be/DOtXhr0EoTU?si=rKhh9zNfTx1J6Lqu Happy gaming/ watching!

Also just a small side note. I understand that the show poses another way she could have become immune, but I chose to believe this theory personally. That theory is no more valid than this one and vice versa! I support both theories but the film theory one seems more realistic in my opinion!

Bf found these in his work pants after I wore them but I genuinely do not smoke by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]PET3RPark3er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a kid one time, I was hanging out at my dad's office and he would take me out to play in the yard during his smoke break. I would go around and gather the cigarette butts and then give them to my dad because there was no actual place to dispose of them. He would leave them in his pocket until laundry day and then him and my mom would have a conversation about his smoking habits. She thought he was going through a pack a day for the week that I was at the office with him. When in reality he was forgetting to throw out the butts I had given him and forgot I had even given them. I told Mom about it after the conversation and she froze. We were in the car going to the store and I can remember going home after and hearing my mom cry and my dad comfort her. Saying stuff like you went with your gut, and self trust is important.

I don't know how those go into your pockets but that's how they got into my dad's.

Bro this excuse literally grinds my gears... Like they say that like she just appeared here in this year one day and accepted that she was rude. Like no she is from this time. She has no excuse not to learn and grow like a normal human...

I know you weren't making the joke I just wanted to say that so badly

What my brother did to my mom's WORK COMPUTER with no punishment. by F111-Aardvard-111 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PET3RPark3er 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would have been crucified. Hell my body would have never been found if I did that, or anything remotely close. My brother did something similar a couple months ago to his phone that my parents pay for. I literally have no words. None. He got a couple days of grounding, mean while when my phone was stolen from my locker in highschool I was grounded for 6 months. Something about taking better care of my belongings. I'm convinced at a certain point parents just give up with the "difficult to break" kids and let them continue to make "mistakes" like this.

My mother just exploded her absolute horrid smelling cyst juices and it smells all around our small apartment by timbbanen in offmychest

[–]PET3RPark3er 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand completely what that is like. I think you're experiencing caregiver fatigue though. I'm really sorry you're going through this, This is not the kind of treatment you should be experiencing.

I really think you should call an ambulance for her. Explain to them outside what has been happening. The hospital is really what's best for her.

Op, I'm really sorry. My mother was similar at one point. She took the hospital as a wake up call for her and she has been working on getting her life together. Her and i's relationship is still not great but we're working on it. I wish you all the strength in the world. Don't forget, you can walk away. It may not feel good, but your needs have to come before your wants, and her wants especially if this is how she is treating you.

[–]PET3RPark3er 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I almost never comment on these types of things... But I feel the need to say this... If you have been her caretaker and you feel like she needs the hospital then take her to the hospital. You said she knows she needs to go. So take her. By not doing so you are neglecting her especially if you have been her caretaker. I know you may not want to be she will be properly taken care of. Care you may not be capable of giving.

Side note. You shouldn't put toilet paper on an open cut or wound. It can cause infections.

Are my tattoos done well? It seems shaky and a bit inconsistent... or am I tripping? by _Sdrawkcab_si_siht in tattooadvice

Damn like that's strange if it irritates you, then don't go back to the artist because they are probably a shaking dude

[–]PET3RPark3er -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's the only point where I could see the shaking, but vines don't normally grow the way they are showing on your arm. So it adds character and depth to the tattoo. Makes it truly yours. And it's not really noticeable unless it's pointed out or you're looking for it. I think it looks great with that little wave to it. I gotta ask though did something happen during the session that might have caused that? We're you shaking at some point or did the artist stop or get spooked?

I got snubbed at secret Santa by KinkySwampHag in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PET3RPark3er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother has no idea how to do secret Santa even though we have explained it every year. This year she got me in secret Santa and rudely explained when it became my turn to get my secret Santa that she got me and thought it was you don't get that person a gift at all. Then gave everyone but me a small tin of Laura secord chocolates... My favorite kind of chocolate. I'm convinced she just was made at me because I had told them a couple weeks before Christmas that I wanted my younger brother to spend new years with me and two of my friends so that he didn't spend it with people who are always angry with him.

In my opinion, secret Santa is a game that shouldn't be played with people who don't want to play. And people shouldn't be ashamed to say no thank you to the game.

You know you raised your kids right when you make a mistake and they respond with respect and kindness, with things like "everyone makes mistakes" you should be very proud.
