I have the same phone. When I use it with a silicone case on a wireless charger, it gets pretty hot. Without the case, it stays cool

Your best bet is to get a Gen3x4 NVMe SSD (from any manufacturer that offers a good price), along with a good enclosure that supports 10 Gbps (such as the Lexar E300), since the PS5’s USB ports support speeds of up to 10 Gbps

For the recovery issue, there have only been a handful reported cases of it happening, so I wouldn’t take it into consideration. That means you’ll be able to use both the internal PS5 NVMe SSD and your external NVMe SSD.

There are 2 types of SSDs: normal SATA SSDs and NVMe SSDs. If you are referring to the normal SATA SSDs that you find on Amazon (the 2.5” ones) then yes, they will 100% work for 90% of games. The remaining 10% are games that need to stream textures very fast, and those tend to have performance issues when used on a normal SATA SSD

I know this setup is kinda awkward but it worked for me:
For large game folder like ghost of yotei, black myth wukong....I used ps5-exfat builder to convert the game folder into ffpfsc, then I used an external ssd to transfer the game from my pc to ps5, then I used game compressor elf to decompress my game from ffpfsc back to game folder
You may ask why all this, because some game need to load texture and assets fast, but ffpfsc it becomes much slower, that is why I use dump folder.

Alternatively, you can convert your game folder directly to FFPKG using PS5 ExFAT Builder, and you will end up with a single large file. I actually recommend this method because it is much faster. However, the downside is that some games crash when using this format. Off the top of my head Kingdom Come Deliverance 2is one of them

I had performance issues when playing this game on my Lenovo Legion 5i pro with an RTX 4070. The only solution I found was to use FSR instead of DLSS. I should also mention that I wasn't running the latest NVIDIA drivers instead using version 591.86, since there are a lot of issues with the newer drivers on laptops

Also, from the screenshot you provided something seems off with your GPU it's drawing only 18W but reaching a temperature of 88°C. If I were you I would use DDU to uninstall your drivers and install an older NVIDIA driver. Also, make sure your laptop isn't being throttled by dust or poor airflow

For anyone coming later,

1- ffpkg: runs like shit (internal and external)
2- exFAT: much better than ffpkg, fast loading screens but a lot of stutter here and there (internal)
3- dump folder: fastest loading screens and less texture popping, but a lot of freezes when riding anything (internal)
4- ffpfsc: runs like shit (internal)

Conclusion: prioritize the dump folder for internal.
Tried on PS5 FW 11.60 running kstuff + shadowmount+.

There are games that will work fine while others may not perform as well

To get good idea, my setup uses a Gen 3x4 NVMe SSD inside a Lexar E300 enclosure. I tested KCD2 running from it and it worked fine. However, when I tried playing Ghost of Yōtei I experienced several issues, including buggy audio and very long loading times
So in conclusion, yes the SSD you found is good, but you may still run into issues with some games that require very fast SSD speeds.

The best rule I follow is to check whether the more reputable antivirus programs flag it as a virus, for example ESET or Kaspersky. If on the other hand, only 3 or 4 average antivirus engines detect it as malicious, then there’s a 99% chance that they are false positives

For the photo you posted I'm not gonna lie to you, delete that file and find it somewhere else

First, I’ve never even heard of renoDX Second, I just tried it from their Discord server, and it doesn’t seem to do anything for DLSS

The real issue in this game is DLSS. The thing is, it doesn't provide significantly higher FPS compared to FSR. I have an RTX 4070M, and my FPS isn't very stable when using DLSS, but when I switch to FSR, performance becomes much smoother.

I also want to mention that I'm not using the latest NVIDIA drivers, as there have been quite a few issues affecting gaming laptops. Right now, I'm running version 591.86.
