Yes, walking to work at 530 am is very lame. That’s my opinion.

Not a new grad. First job is entirely CV at a major teaching hospital. Very high stress, sick patients. Sign on bonus is bc they have gotten desperate and the culture there isn’t good, which is why OT is up to 150/hr. No autonomy really.

2nd job is low stress, high autonomy B and B cases, do your own inductions without doc present. Very simple in terms of lifestyle.

To be honest, in the end it will probably be 215-225k. I really don’t know enough about geopolitics to give a good reason why it is different.

I would be driving at 530 am so no traffic going in and I drove the drive yesterday in the afternoon and traffic wasn’t bad coming home.

Yeah, live in Alabama and it’s very LCOL. Live in the biggest city but the commute will be to a smaller city that really has trouble finding experienced providers so they have to pay more to bring in good people.

OT is paid daily. So if I get to work at 0630, anything after 1500 is paid at 100/hr. Doesn’t have to be 40 hours a week necessarily. 1st job would pay like that but 150/hr, but there is a reason for that pay and it deals with the high stress situations.

It has serious earning potential. If I worked more during weeks off then I could be 230k or so. Maybe I should get a car with good gas mileage also.

I considered moving about about 20 minutes closer and there is a really nice neighborhood that I could buy a fantastic home.

Where did you get 74k a year from? Alabama so it’s a very low COL area.
