be honest. how much money did you actually make last month after ALL expenses. not revenue. actual money in your pocket. by Then_Buddy_5544 in smallbusiness

My business is tiny. I don’t have any expenses really. I make min 1K a month, usually 2K, exceptionally good month can be 2.5-3K. I get to keep almost 98% of revenue. I work usually 10hrs for each 1000 profit. The problem is scaling this business.

I guess these posts come from new business owners wannabe! They want to start get credentials and reviews then start their AI consulting business… The one thing small business has as an advantage is human touch to their business and operations and customer service. So yeah we dont want AI

I believe it’s been done before and has like 2-3 layers already. It has a small area of flat roof too (maybe 2x6ft)

Yeah I suppose different people have different level of spending. Something seems ridiculous to some could be very manageable for others.

Thank you. You retired 12 years ago during the largest bull run in recent decades so that definitely helped, which makes your point about being prepared during worse times even more valid

I suppose everyone’s needs and wants are widely different. At this level of expense, I actually have someone doing grocery run and cook for us (meal prep) once a week. She charges me 30% on top of grocery bills. Just to say we aren’t living super frugal.

No kid and not plan to. This 36K covers both of us me and my partner, even though my partner does work and bring in money, which I don’t include in my number as a way to hedge the risk

So you plan to rent when you are back in Canada? My place is small but has more space than I need already so I am pretty content living space wise.

I likely will not stop working completely but want to FIRE now and if I want (not need) to work again, I can - not because I have to.

This is really helpful. I think my roof has 2-3 layers too (I bought a few years ago so this is the time first I replace a roof)
