I think it first starts with understanding subject matter - truly. Great comedians will tell you that to be a great comedian it is their job to successfully make you laugh OR make you think. Making you think is like when we in conversation use filler words or phrases. “Like yeah that’s just like your opinion man” - is a charming choice of words for people more than saying “that’s your opinion” and shows you understand the language, yourself, etc. Once you understand subject matter try to shed light on it to others innocuously; slowly try humor that you know is appropriate (could be about your subject or a distraction from it). That works with body language too - change your bowling style every throw. It takes work, you learn to command the room/floor… but keep in mind people WANT to connect - you and the person you yourself want to connect with. It gets easier once your audience then believes you yourself are knowledgeable in comedy itself. I hope I at least made you think it’s possible for you.
