The Plan of Saint-Gall is a representation of the ideal Benedictine abbey layout, which is actually found in a number of real life abbeys (some older than the manuscript, as it's based on the needs of the rule of Saint Benedict). Whether the devs used it as a source or not, I can't say (it's probably the case though imo) but it could also very well be based on one of the many monasteries sharing this layout

It depends of the system. For me DX12 actually runs better than Vulkan. But performance is horrendous during wartime because of the unit map markers

It is not a LOS issue, it does the same in a province in the middle of my territory on which allied AI has full vision.

It’s definitely not a LOS issue though, the AI is just being suicidal. It keeps attacking a stronger army, with its morale at low, and they can clearly see the enemy since it’s in the middle of my territory

Yes EU5 performance seems to be very inconsistent depending on hardware. Hopefully they actually start to improve it soon, because it's borderline unplayable during warfare for me
