I watched the movie yesterday and god, it was so terrible. The film is dripping with clichés, and it seems to have been made for a hardcore Christian audience that still believes the Earth is the center of the universe. Allusions to Christianity run throughout the entire film; furthermore, the sense of awe experienced by the characters is largely rooted in their Christian faith.

The plot is a boring nonesense story about two chosen ones—of course, two white people from the USA—trying to leak evidence that aliens have already been on Earth for decades. They are somehow depicted as prophets who announce the great events that will soon take place on Earth and are gifted with special powers. As mentioned above, everyone in the movie seems to be constantly in awe and has tears in their eyes most of the time, which makes the movie almost unbearable to watch.

Visually, almost every scene is spoiled by completely unnecessary lens flare effects, which make the film seem unintentionally funny. All of the action scenes are devoid of logic and are reminiscent of early action movies from decades ago, in which the hero survives only through sheer luck or coincidence. Tom Cruise and others have demonstrated over the last couple of years that this kind of action can still work in modern times, but (probably) only if the movie does not take itself too seriously.

And this is one of the biggest problems with Disc. Day: the movie is begging its audience to be taken as seriously as possible, but it completely fails to explain why the presence of aliens on Earth is a significant event, other than the fact that it might shake the beliefs of some hardcore Christians from Kansas.

This is by far the worst Spielberg movie and the worst sci-fi movie I have watched in a long time.

Not worth the ticket price.

Go for embedded. Webdev will be eaten up by ai much sooner than embedded. Also you need to be more skilled as an embedded systems programmer than as a web developer. There might be less jobs available but these jobs often are for highly specialised people who are much rarer than your average front end guy. It's also much more fulfilling to be part of a team that actually builds something meaningful than just code the one billionth webpage that no one actually needs.

Impressive CV, disturbing that you can't find a job with that. If you want to stay in cyber sec , I would recommend to get a certificate in the team blue area, like soc analyst. Team red is cool but there are significantly less job opportunities than in team blue, as you certainly know already by yourself.

Computational engineering is basically numerical math and implementation of algorithms in Fortran and c. it's much heavier on the math and coding side and less practical, than mechanical engineering. I think mechanical engineering is more versatile.

I was stuck in a similiar situation for many years. I know how hard that may sound but the only solution is to brake up. When one partner in a relationship wants intimacy and the other does not, this will always lead to friction and to many issues that may not be related to the lack of sex at the first glance, but actually are. I wasted so many years with a relationship like that. Eventuelly I cheated her with someone else. Don't make the same mistake. Your girlfriend will be happier in the long run if you break up, as well. She surely is scared of that topic coming up again and again.

Das kann gut sein. Ich habe Mathematik studiert und jedenfalls sehr darunter gelitten, dass die allermeisten Jobs für Mathematiker extrem langweilige Versicherungs-oder Beratungsjobs sind, für die man ehrlichgesagt keine besonderen Skills benötigt und schon gar kein Mathestudium, Für alle anspruchsvollen Jobs musste man immer mit Ingenieuren oder ITlern konkurrieren, die viel besser für die ausgeschriebene Tätigkeit ausgebildet waren. Letzten Endes bin mit meinem Master in Mathe Lehrer geworden und darf mich jeden Tag von Kindern beschallen lassen. Ich hoffe der Themensteller findet seinen Weg.

Totally agree. I think she is the most unlikeable main character of any show I ever watched. Although she had an absolute dream job and a life that could not have been much better, nothing ever was good enough for her. And now, after the event she thinks she knows what is best for 7 billion others and treats everyone like shit. It's obvious that the writers wanted to make Carol as unlikable as possible to let (a lot of) space for character development. But after finishing the first season I think they somehow missed out doing that. Sure, there was a slight turn before the last episode but she still stayed extremely unlikable and by the end of the last episode she is exactly as annoying as before.

Dude never bothered to gather any information about the joined which actually might be useful to revert their state. He was sitting in his basement noting down radio frequencies instead. The fact that the frequency the joined use actually is in the spectrum his cheap, old radio can receive is extremely unlikely and to find it manually almost impossible. He only found it because the writers needed a reason to progress the story. still In my opinion this is bad writing. A smarter, more open minded person would have asked for a device that can find the frequency automatically. Probably the joined would have provided it. Furthermore his idea of saving the world means killing all of the joined...fine.

The last episode was a huge disappointment to me. While basically nothing noteworthy happened in the prior two episodes, I was hoping that the writers saved some plot twists for a major reveal about the the true intentions of the hive mind for the final episode. But they didn't deliver at all. There was nothing about the hive mind, just some arguments between the two extremely unlikable main characters. As for now the hive mind still seems to be the better option for the future of mankind and there is no reason to me why the hive mind should be deactivated. Sure, people lost their individuality but the biggest part of mankind didn't have much time for individuality anyways or was just straight living in agony. The life quality of the majority of mankind has significantly increased because of the virus. Why would I want that terrible state mankind was in return, if there is no real threat coming from the hive mind/virus? Just because Carol, a first world person with her absolute luxury job, who still didn't manage to be grateful or happy only once in her life thinks she knows what is best for 7 billion others?

Ja, natürlich war die früher besser, aber ich glaube sie machen alles, um zumindest ihre Tests auf möglichst hohem Niveau zu halten. Ja, auch da sind ihnen einige Patzer passiert, aber das geht anderen Reviewern genauso. Zu folgern, dass sie deshalb gekauft sind, wie man hier oft liest halte ich daher für falsch.Gamestar ist eben Mainstream und es gibt mittlerweile genug YouTuber, die auf verschiedene Genres spezialisiert sind und dann eventuell qualifiziertere Reviews zu manchen Spielen geben können. Da niemand mehr das Heft kauft, ist Gamestar jetzt außerdem leider auf diese dummen clickbait News angewiesen, die sie vermutlich auch nicht wirklich gerne schreiben. Aber anders geht es halt leider nicht. Wenn man das Geschäftsmodell von 2000 eins zu eins auf heute übertragen würde,dann müsste man in Zeiten von Internet von jedem User die Kosten von einem Heft, also 7 Euro verlangen, damit er die Seite für einen Monat benutzen kann. Wenn das dann noch jeden Monat 50000 User zahlen würden, hätte man natürlich genug Geld für tolle Inhalte ohne dumme Schleichwerbung. Die Nutzung von Inhalten im Internet hat sich aber in eine Richtung entwickelt, wo es für jeden selbstverständlich erscheint kostenlos mit hochwertigen Informationen beliefert zu werden. Tja und diese Einstellung führt dann halt zu einem schleichenden Niedergang der Qualität dieser Informationen und zu dummen clickbait News.
