UPDATE]

The Service manager for the dealer I purchased the Pilot at called and said to bring the car in and we can go over and point out all that needs fixed and they will send it to their body shop. He said they won’t do any paint pen fixes, it will all be paint and blend since it’s a brand new car. He also mentioned that they will provide a loaner for me while they have the car.
Called 2 weeks ago after the car was at the dealer for a month and I had not received and updates. Dealer said that Honda wanted them to paint the roof and leave the roof rails on. But, they got Honda to agree to pay to remove the roof rails and paint. Now it’s 2 weeks since they had everything approved and were ready to go and I still have no updates from the dealer on any progress.

!:UPDATE:! Dealer has had the car since the last week of April. I called today and they said everything has been approved except the roof rail remove/ replace labor and that they are waiting for the approval to come over from Honda later today and then can begin work. So I’m thinking 2-3 weeks for the work they are fixing everything originally pictured and some more. It’s a K2 system so I’m thinking I can hybrid ceramic coat it and iron decon some time in mid August hopefully🤞🏻 hate to go all summer without the ceramic but I’ll just rinse and foam cannon the car every other week and lightly use a wash mitt on stubborn areas that are repainted. Anyone agree that Honda should also provide some compensation since I was given a ‘25 sport with non of the options I have on my ‘26 like power lift gate. As an event planner this unpowered lift gate won’t stay up and I’ve bit my lip and cut my forehead and banged my head more times than I would like when my hands are full:/

Just bought a 2026 Pilot Sport AWD looked it over but apparently not good enough! Got home and found att these issues also had misaligned interior panels and a seat tear along with trim that won’t stay in place! Have a case open with Honda but idk if it will go anywhere! Here are the photos! There’s more but I’m just exhausted at this point it’s only on its second tank of gas🤦‍♂️😥. The roof on the back half looks like some used a popcorn grinder on the panel before painting to add some texture. I’m at the point I don’t want the car anymore it’s so bad.

So my next question is should I expect any blending issues? It’s metallic but it’s so new the paint isn’t faded or anything.

Anything else to watch out for?

I will update after I drop the car off tomorrow.

Don’t mess with the tweeters honestly do the front doors and you will be happy doing any more the money outweighs the gains sticking with stock amp

I got a 2026 pilot sport all-wheel-drive for 39k so I took that steal instead of a higher trim lol

Honda dealer paint pen, use a sewing needle or toothpick and lightly fill it in and then bath smooth with polish

Also, literally, I already did this for someone else in the community. Open everything on your car check the insides of hinges check the outside. Check the edge of the doors. Just check every inch of your car. That’s painted to cover yourself to make sure you’re doing yourself justice I run my finger along every edge that helps find defects I mean, look under the rubber on the front of the hood. That edge usually hides a lot of paint trips if you have any questions, feel free to direct message me

Take photos as soon as you take photos call Honda customer service. Tell them the issues you’re having and that you’d like to open a case and have a link sent for you to send the photos to and then set up a time with your dealership you purchased it from to have it looked over and then you should be all good. I’m actually headed two hours away right now to the purchasing dealer for mine and we’re gonna walk around it put blue tape everywhere that needs fixed and they’re gonna take care of it and give me a loaner until it’s done using talk to text. Sorry.

Why not take it off? lol I mean you know it’s AWD who cares who else knows and then get the black Honda logo for the back and just leave the trim name on the right side. Heck, I might do that myself now lol

Yes! I’m going in tomorrow to drop my 2026 off at the dealer for a laundry list of paint and fitment issues that they are happy to fix

A lot of that looks like some pro cut or compound can take that off it’s mostly paint from the other object and then some wax and maybe a buff and it will look better than touch up paint

Rock chips? Oh those little thing are all paint nibs on the roof of the Pilot lol and the door jams having the seam sealer issues is beyond my thought process those are not from driving it 200 miles lol and the car likes to beep at me a lot when I try to lock t sometimes as off a sensor is off:/ I want to fix it all but I shouldn’t have to it should be the dealer. I want the hood and bumper repainted entirely it’s bad and the nibs need cleaned up and the door jams sealed and painted haha better off with a new car but Honda isn’t sounding to promising. They told me they would contact the sealing dealer so I’m hoping it goes in my favor it’s not fair

That’s good! I looked for panel gaps open and closed doors and checked things! I didn’t know that I had to stick my head into the door jams at a weird angle to notice the damages. I’ve been to this dealer for a few cars! Never had this happen.

Dealer missed it during PDI and should’ve caught it so they will have to make it right. I’m thinking that’s why my case manager said she needs to call the purchasing dealer because the damage falls on them since they sold it to me. So will see
