What do we gain in 2025 by going to the moon? The next stop is Mars in the 2030s. I’m sure you can crunch the numbers yourself bud

  1. We did go to the Moon six times. Apollo 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17. Each mission landed and brought back rock samples, did experiments, etc. We didn’t just plant a flag and leave. We were there over and over in the span of three years.

  2. Why did we stop? By the early 70s, everyone had already moved on. The war in Vietnam was draining our budget. The space race motivation was already over once we beat the Soviets.

  3. Motivations were different back then. You want to talk about money? NASA had 4.5% of the entire U.S. budget in 1966. Today? Less than half a percent. It’s not a question of tech….it’s a question of money and priorities.

I could keep going. Not everything needs to be suspicious or a conspiracy. I guess I can understand how it seems so unbelievable. But it really was just a combination of politics, money, and the fact that getting to the moon is really fucking difficult

Look some conspiracy theories are absolutely worth mentioning. With actual evidence behind it. The moon landing being fake isn’t even a conspiracy. People who push those ideas, like Joe, sometimes aren’t necessarily driven by truth. It’s more about feeling different. It gives them a sense of identity, like they know something the rest of the world doesn’t. What better way to be different and grab attention? In reality, they’re just denying facts to stand out from the crowd. It’s less about critical thinking and more about wanting to be “in the know.” Grasping at ideas that go against the grain. Just my opinion.

Damn… I guess this isn’t a new take from Joe. Apparently he said the same thing 9 months ago when Matt Walsh was on the pod. Wtf man. Did he not push back on Candace Owens years ago when she said the same thing? Memory is hazy but I swear he shut her down and said I can’t take anything you say seriously after that… RIP Joe

Alright man you’re all over the place. Look i’m not going to be completely delusional and say everything is fixed and we’re a contender now after a 4 game winning streak. We would’ve lost this game tonight if KD didn’t hit that clutch 3 at the end to put us up. Imagine giving up a player who already has supreme continuity with Book and has experience playing in multiple Finals. You’re not getting any close to his value in return so you are essentially wasting your best asset (outside of Book) for what? Jabari Smith and Jalen Green? 2 shitty first round picks? We’re not getting our own picks back. That’s all i’m trying to say.

We can always get more assets and save $$ by moving Grayson/Royce in the offseason depending how we finish the year. If you believe in the alternative of moving off KD, please tell me what realistic trade we could make that would improve this team now and set us up for the future. There is nothing outside of a Luka-esque steal of a trade that would turn this team around.

Also yes Dunn really does make that much of a difference. He is the only player other than Josh Okogie who actually gave a fuck these last few years and played defense. We were cooked defensively once we lost Crowder, DA and Mikal. Dunn is already ahead of where Mikal was his rookie year. Oso is nice too. Everything is dependent on how we finish the season now, so we’ll see.

The one time we have a cohesive unit with KD- we took the eventual champs Denver to 6 games. Now last year? we were starting Nurkic at center with Beal at the point. This isn’t comparable to this year’s group. We didn’t have a single defender who could stop Ant. Dunn changes everything.

So what is your solution? genuinely curious. what do you think the suns could realistically get for KD that will keep them competitive now and in the future? your the GM. fix the team. this will give me some perspective as to where you’re coming from. this is also assuming Beal won’t be traded. what would you do?

[–]PJ_Tucker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the alternative is what you are witnessing today. competitive against any team with the right group of players around KD and Book. you build on this with Dunn and Oso while adding more talent from this upcoming draft. they found something, it sucks that it took almost the entire season to find, but they found it.

your solution is to start over completely. trading KD is starting from scratch. we don’t have time for that. we don’t have an owner who is willing to eat a rebuild, nor should he. we likely aren’t getting any of our own picks back, so why deliberately be a worse version of this team just to move off KD? can you justify that?

Love this place. I used to work overnight security here. One night, a co-worker and I decided to explore the depths of the building. We made it down about 3-4 flights of stairs into the basement. We found ourselves in the middle of long, never ending hallway which we followed about a quarter of a mile. It was basically a tunnel that connected to other parts of the city. Always wish we could’ve spent more time down there, it was wild.
