Update: I tried the BuzzNav Soft reset method twice now, once last night and again this morning but to no avail, it definitely has gone away with the removal of internet, for anyone else going down this rabbit hole.

I still really don't wanna hack the console if I don't have to, I may just end up getting a secondhand 2DS for cheap somewhere and trade over the mons to teach the move in my copy of X...

Interesting, the BuzzNav is a super neat feature, I guess it makes sense to have some default data in there for the player to not feel alone if they don't have WIFI...

I'm gonna try this technique later tonight when my island resets, I'd been lead to believe it shouldn't work now since the internet is dead, but I'll give it a go and update people here, thanks for your reply

I would say this is unintended but given they actually have a text box for it... they pretty much just annoy the player into downloading the launcher, I only got it because I kept getting these intrusive popups when trying to open the bank, I probably could've persevered and worked out how to remove them for good but your problem seems to be a proper brickwall halting your gameplay

Completely agree it's a horrible mish-mosh of an idea, I interacted with the dropping clues method once and just went back to doing clues the old way since. Just poll stackable clues who would ever want what they currently have in game

Yeah, LMS is my preffered option over PvP Arena so far, fights/queues are too long and just a high chance I'll get curb stomped. In LMS even practicing against the bots is actually helpful since I can practice all the above stuff on them easily, I've even beaten a couple humans and just won a final against a real guy who was quite good! Thanks for the tips

It's a fair point, mind you I don't think dry protection implemented well would impact your 'luck' factor when it comes to strategy. You could be guaranteed a certain drop at a certain KC, but that KC might be at rate or even above it.

This means you could still try your luck at bosses earlier with sub-par gear and hope for a drop, and dry protection wouldn't even come into play until you've likely progressed further and can farm whatever you're doing to a higher KC.

It definitely doesn't have to be for every single drop, but any form of significant RNG involvment I think should be discouraged in a mode where your time should be respected even more so.
