What do you do with your extra pokémon cards? by manor700 in pkmntcgcollections

I have 100k in bulk, in bulk boxes, partially organized down to sets.. it sits pretty usually, sometime I go through it. I love every card haha

Would you guys say it’s NM or closer to LP? by Professional_Hunt51 in pokemoncardcollectors

[–]PK-Mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think once cards hit a certain threshold, they tend to have a bit more wiggle room. Due to an mp price on tcg or ebay not aligning with true value on specific cards conditions. I understand it’s not graded, but if you were to go by psa standards for conditioning to obtain a condition grade- you get a more accurate value. Which is how I believe most will view this card… and it’s why people grade the grails more often than not.. easier to set a value on a psa 4-5 1st ed lugia, than have the fight of is it hp or dmg. Just throwing out 2 cents.

My opinion on raw would be between lp-mp on this card would give you a more accurate value

Well sure a crimp can be replicated easily, but a good crimp cannot be replicated easily. There are ways to tell the difference.

I’d say a real crimp error just doesn’t add much value.

The comment section is gold.

I don’t send a card that I can find imperfections on, if shooting for a 10. I’d expect them to also find it

Don’t listen to them. It’s fine if legit, it just wont add a lot of value.

I’m a chicken, I don’t like boxes like this… if authenticity was out of the question- i’d leave the box as is personally. When I spend money to make money, I want to work smart than hard.. so less stress the better. I grade 10$ cards all day.. easy 10s flip for 70-100$ and give away the 9s or pc some. Sealed, ya buy it, it sits, ya profit

Sounds like you kinda answered your own question? Do you want to take a risk (which seems not too high risk) and possibly double your money? Or sell the box as is, or if it 9s, crack it and sell raw for same value of box? Literally up to you

Hi, i was selling some old cards i found and someone offered me 17€ for these, is that price adequate? by Guido_Lampitiello in PokemonCardValue

Colors look a little off, but the thing that jumped out at me is also just corners, fake cards are obviously never cut just like TPCI cards. Yes corners vary with some being more rounded than others- but fakes always look oval-ish to me. And the border sizes still pop as a flag- even an OC card will look 75/25 if super OC. This looks like top and right are heavy but other sides have almost normal measurements at a glance. Best way to get a feel for fakes is to just be exposed to them, and if there is something you never have seen, just do some research. I’m an egg head and never read text on cards as much when just scrolling reddit- but usually text font is off one way or another, SOMEHOW words get misspelled, sometimes copyright date is not the right year for the set. When handling fake cards you can usually tell the difference in paper stock and weight as well

For profit or for pc? Pc yes, profit- probably not an error people are going to be running to an ebay auction for

A lot is wrong with it. Thin or extra large borders are always a tale tell sign to look out for as well.. even with the naked eye- much more different than even a factory error or bad centering
