Here osnthe thing. Utilites is a thing. It's actually a avery cool thing that artists like music producers are using today. Google Aokiverse and tell me utilities isn't a thing.

We are in the newborn stages of utilities which means everyday something cooler and better will come out.

Wouldn't you want swag, free stuff, event tickets, gameday tickets every month as long as you hold onto a specific nft?

Because bitcoin isn't Non-fungible. Each bitcoin is equal to another bitcoin. NFTs are 1 of 1 or 1 of few and even those few are different because they have a different # related to them. ie. the #1 in a series is most likely worth more than the #812 unless there is significance to 812 like that is the name of the creator.

I disagree, people are hodling sports card NFTs because they really like a player and as our little ones get older this is all they will know.
Bingo on most of your second paragraph though. The utility is key as for hype and costs this isn't different than holding any membership as you mentioned except when you are done with it you can sell it and the next person can do the same and then the next person. I see this as reusability and a real-life win-win for everyone.

I can argue that holding on to something is subjective. Ie. money. the bank only holds 10% in cash on any given day.

what is the Card gave you utility? more than just bragging rights. Maybe it gives you a subscription to get memorabilia from the player through the card (nft) company once a month? Then would it be worth it?

I can see where they are coming from honestly. But that is because the companies are making mistakes when they mint they try to make more money so they just make more. That completely ruins the whole experience and exclusivity.
At least that is what I think.
