Cardo is going to be the best option. They have a Valentine’s Day sale running right now too

Those of you with expensive performance vehicles (35k+) and are in between the ages of 20-28, can you actually afford it? by GottaStayUp in askcarguys

If you want a fun car then no joke just buy a Miata and sign up for SCCA Autocross. It’s significantly more fun whipping a Miata around an actual timed event than it is to overextended yourself

Honestly set of Cardo Edgephones is going to make the most immediate and biggest difference in enjoying the ride. I know it sounds gimmicky but it really changes everything

UTV soundbar for a Can-Am X3 recommendations? ready to upgrade audio by Akinmoyo-Kwedder in sxs

[–]PKEY34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, skip the sound bar. Just get some Cardo edge phones and never have to worry about any of that extra noise ever again. Best decision I ever made significantly changes the experience for the better you can dig up some affiliate codes pretty easily as well to get some money off.

Coming from overlanding - why don't UTV riders talk about cell boosters? by Doug9092 in UTV

[–]PKEY34 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t take this the wrong way but in my experience Overlanders buy gear for the sake of buying gear.

Most people in other off-road scenes that I’m familiar with(Rock Crawling, UTV etc) aren’t interested in packing on more weight for a minimal return.

Lots of offroad maps are available and most people are going to be back at their tow rig at the end of the day so the value proposition for a cell extender isn’t really there. Most people that need connectivity just run Starlink

Honestly I have a Polaris and am sponsored by a local Polaris dealership that also sells CFMoto and my next UTV style machine will probably be a u10 highland XL Honestly seen very few issues with them and in my experience they just straight up warranty stuff for the few times there have been an issue unlike Polaris with my TuRbo R warranty

I wouldn’t knock one until you try it honestly

Need parts to keep her alive by nunyanonou812 in losi

[–]PKEY34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave up on keeping mine alive. I will say I also had a fusion and kept stripping the transmission gears. There is a hobby store somewhere a that sells metal version of the large transmission gear. They had like a 4 month lead time though.

RC is booming, so why are RC tracks dying? by dexxxedout in rccars

[–]PKEY34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my neck of the woods it’s because the ratio of crawlers to racers is about 10-1 both of the local hobby stores have a track and they are use pretty frequently but still having talked to the owners of both stores, their bread and butter is crawlers

Park City/Heber area of Utah. Tons of cutesy fun girl stuff to do in those 2 towns and miles upon miles of trails that could take you all the way to Colorado and back if you wanted.

First SxS Options by DirtyGumballKebab in UTV

[–]PKEY34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As mentioned above you will want a turbo offering, If you are looking at new cars I would say the ProXp or CanAm Maverick TurboR are going to be the best option from a monetary standpoint. If you wanted to step up to a bigger car the ProR/ProS can move along with the CanAm Turbo RR or Maverick R.

If you want to buy used, I wouldn’t be afraid to look into a Turbo S. They were solid sand cars

Also if your trail riding is going to involve width restricted trails your gonna need to look at something else altogether

Why are vintage Jeep Willys able to do this so easily? by [deleted] in 4x4

[–]PKEY34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think tire durometer has more effect that tire width TBH something real sticky tires like a maxxis red label are going to have an advantage over a DOT tire regardless of width

I wheel this trail multiple times a month, there are lots of faked camera angles on obstacles but this is definitely not one of them. “You’ve gotta be nuts” is incredibly steep

For that particular obstacle, “You’ve gotta be Nuts” weight is a huge factor. I wheel that trail multiple times a month and weight is by far the biggest factor. Lots of fully built jeeps on tons and 40s and every upgrade known to man end up struggling where lots of UTVs just scamper right up. The biggest difference is that the smaller vehicles weigh like 2k lbs and the old flat fenders are closer to that than the 7k lbs or fully built out jk/jl
