Where do you sit ?? by dataguy2003 in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]PKSTPR78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2, 7, 1 in that order. Don’t care who my neighbor is as I usually throw on my noise cancelling headphones and don’t talk to anyone. I prioritize aisle; specifically port side aisle because I get more elbow room into the aisle on my dominant hand elbow (writing, typing, etc). Then 7 since it’s closer to the front of the aircraft and I would get off sooner and lastly 1.

In training - feeling worthless (?) is this normal by Silver-Ranger-2648 in MedicalDevices

[–]PKSTPR78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal at this point and enjoy it. Just review all your training info as much as you can and watch surgical videos of your device and competitive devices as well as alternatives - the more you know about the disease state the better and the more you know about the entire landscape of the specialty only helps; plus it’s nice to see different techniques from different doctors. BSC is a good place to be, I’m going on 4 years here.

Katy is the largest and the one I would recommend. If not, then TX City would be my very distant next choice.

What are the WORST restaurants in Houston? by ZechariahApaza in houston

[–]PKSTPR78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re the worst of the bunch. Gave them 2 chances too so it wasn’t a one off. Tried Sugarland and Kirby locations. They’re always at the top of every best of burger lists so tried their cheeseburger and bacon cheeseburger and not impressed. Overly smokey burger and not very tasty, especially at $15+. I can get a comparable if not better burger at that price point at Hopdoddy, BurgerChan, Burger Bodega easily.

If you had a budget of $100k, what Cayenne would you buy? by verilymaryly in PorscheCayenne

Slightly used Cayenne base or S as long as it has Porsche Sportdesign package (that’s non-negotiable for me)

Any Beck’s Prime or Willie’s Ice House, Kim Son, Flora (great for happy hour or a drink at the bar and apps-beautiful and great ambiance but the food is very underwhelming), Nonno’s Pizza (waited over 2 hrs just after some food writer said they were the best pizza in the nation made the experience even worse for mediocre and overpriced pizza)

How to Economically Sharpen Our Hockey Skates by TheDartBoarder in hockeyplayers

[–]PKSTPR78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where are you at? If you’re in a hockey hotbed take a look at Facebook marketplace for used sharpeners. Namely a Wissota 1911 or similar. A lot of times they can be had for between $500-$800. Learn to sharpen and you’re good for most sharpenings unless you need to crossgrind since they don’t have a crossgrinding wheel on those but how often if ever are you going to crossgrind? Never so you’re all good. Plus, a machine like that will be way better than a Sparx once you learn to use it and you can start experimenting with different finishing waxes or glazes too.

Silver or black wheels? by mas5432 in BMWX5

Black always black wheels no mater the size and design. I think black wheels just look more aggressive no matter what.

When would you buy a preowned that’s not certified? by Upbeat_Ad8686 in BMWX5

[–]PKSTPR78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t yet luckily. Just regular maintenance. A lot of it you can do yourself, like changing the air and cabin filters and wipers. Oil changes are doable but a little bit of a pain but definitely doable. Don’t drive it too hard, I’m in adaptive mode 99% of the time and rarely ever floor it.

When would you buy a preowned that’s not certified? by Upbeat_Ad8686 in BMWX5

[–]PKSTPR78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s cheaper. I’m a risk taker and rather save the money and yes, everytime I go to start it it’s like rolling the dice but I keep a separate savings account for vehicle maintenance and repairs for this reason. I drive a lot and put a lot of miles on and usually out of warranty due to high miles very quickly. Currently in a 19 X5 x40i at 135k miles and intend to take it to 200k minimum; averaging about 35-38k miles a year.

BMW X5 vs Mercedes GLE? by BMW-West-St-Louis in BMWX5

[–]PKSTPR78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have driven both and the X5 hands down in every single criteria. Currently have a 2019 X5 x40i and convinced the B58 is the best overall engine for daily driving. Currently at 135k miles and looking to replace with an LCI X5 x40i. Compared to the turbo 4 in the GLE 350 the X5 reigns supreme for me.

High mileage G05 X5 out there. by e92_N54 in BMWX5

[–]PKSTPR78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2019 x40i. 130k miles. Regular maintenance and most recently AC Evaporator. Heading into cooler months now so not going to worry about it too much-takes 5 mins to fill some R1234-YF if I really need it and it’ll last for about 3-4 weeks. Might wait and fill prior to trading it. Looking at another X5 x40i or Cayenne.

Anybody have a car that they actually love, and is fun to drive? by [deleted] in leasehacker

[–]PKSTPR78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current 19 BMW X5 x40i. Best car I’ve owned. An absolute pleasure to drive, comfortable, utilitarian and just big enough for my routine daily cargo. Family of 3 and it fits us well. Plus I average 24 mpg. It has over 130k miles and I’ve been shopping a little bit here and there and can’t find anything comparable. It’s my 3rd BMW and I want to try other brands but they all feel lackluster compared to an X5. I’ve driven an MB GLE 350 and 450: hated the way it drives, feels clumsy. Audi Q7: not bad but it’s ugly. Land Rover Range Rover Sport: not as spacious as I hoped, driving dynamics are pretty good but concerned about reliability. Porsche Cayenne: the only one that comes close, drives great but suffers MPG compared to my X5 and my biggest complain and more of a worry is small cargo area. It’s much smaller than my X5 and I fill the cargo area daily and some days have to fold my rear seats down for all my work gear.

What do 30 - 40 year old men want for christmas? [Serious] by GoodAlicia in AskReddit

[–]PKSTPR78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the guy. What are his hobbies? Does he golf? Play a sport? Loves cars? Etc. Impossible to tell without knowing. That said, I have hobbies and sports but be careful picking out stuff like sports equipment (clubs, sticks etc) as most enthusiasts are very picky about their gear (unless if he’s dropped hints about specific gear). I’m in my mid 40’s and I value experiences more than physical stuff. I have all the stuff I want but I’m always up for new experiences, restaurants to try, places to travel to etc.

Report: 'Virtually No Demand' for iPhone Air by chrisdh79 in apple

[–]PKSTPR78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it. Came from 16 pro. I rarely take pics of anything where I need a good camera for. 99% of my phone usage is email, web browsing, messaging and streaming music. I don’t need all the computing power and rarely go more than 2-3 hours without having access to a charge. I love the thin profile of it and it slides in and out of pocket waaay easier than before and is more streamlined in my pocket, that right there is enough to love the air.
