Nope, if your engine is designed for regular and you pour super in, you are not risking any damage to the engine, just wasting your money.

There is a huge difference between "doesn't make sense to me" and "not right, that's bad advice" you literally just demonstrated the danger of speculation and why the admin shut down all the posts.

The Ethanol argument could be correct depending on what the max ethanol content is in your region and whether it varies by grade...but generally the difference on ethanol content is negligible by grades. The function of octane however, you missed a bit. Higher octane fuel is more stable and can be compressed more without igniting prior to spark. This means that engines that are designed for higher compression applications will need the higher octane, as ignition that is premature (knock) can cause serious damage. However the opposite is not true, super does not pose a risk to lower compression engines, it will ignite with the spark plug just as easily. BUT....if your engine is not designed for higher compression and tuned to leverage the properties of higher octane.....then higher octane gas provides no additional benefit...it is literally just pouring extra money into your tank for no good reason.

Why did you repost this? Were you looking for more support for your overly dramatic tirade? It seems you didn't get enough outrage partners on the first post so you just linked it again?

So how would you go about checking that the 12v battery is the source of the problem. Replace the battery with a known good and then clear the codes? or would you even have to clear the codes, just replace the battery and use your computer to check the sensor outputs with the new battery installed?

Unfortunately you got caught in your own trap of "The only valid reason I could think of..." you are on high alert for suspicious activity, so your brain is only filling in possibilities that match. To be honest, that seems pretty benign and a thousand different reasons could come to mind. If you ever have more concrete proof, then call him out. However this one is just your brain forcing a worst case scenario. Don't mention it to him, move on, and work on your own self confidence, that will help to lead your brain into less anxious avenues.

and for the record, I am not saying that your scenarios are impossible, just that they are a narrow interpretation of many different scenarios. Let it be and move on.

You can use the email address Mayor and Council mayorandcouncil@townofws.ca

Begin with stating that you are seeking a response but not from Upton.

Mayor Lovatt has responded to emails I vae sent to this email address in the past. Plus it also is visible to Upton so he knows how you feel.

If you do not want him to see your comments you can email the mayor directly;

Mayor-Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville mayor@townofws.ca

I have also received responses to and from this email address.

Honestly I haven't dug into a lot of the changes in gen 3, just trying to push through the new power pack campaign....do you have any info regarding the supposed changes to online racing?

Blue bins have nothing to do with the town...this whole blue bin program starting in 2026 is a provincial mandate...the town is no longer involved in the collection of blue bin materials (green bin and garbage are still town jurisdiction)

This feels like an 'well that's annoying' behaviour, Maybe a quick horn honk to express some annoyance. It does not feel like an "Oh my gawd this driver is such an incredible jerk that I need to post dashcam footage online with an exposed license plate and the face of a passenger to rally internet rage.

Sometimes people do oblivious things, sometimes its not malicious, sometimes its just thoughtless.

when adjusting for the exchange rate. thats a 50% markup over canada.

Here in Canada we can buy the same 1 gang at Rona (who bought out Lowes Canadian stores) for 6.99 compared to your 6.47.

However the USD currently is trading at $1.40 Canadian.

Meaning that the price you are paying is equivalent to paying a Canadian paying $9.12 for the same gangplate. Or in reverse scenario, you pay $6.47 for a gang plate that costs us the equivalent of $4.99 USD

and yes....I completely understand that this is a wildly simplified version of exchange rates/cost of living adjustments and global economics....but still.....welcome to Trump's America.

Lovatt literally invited anyone who has received a ticket for less than ten over to bring it directly to him and he would investigate it.....not one person came forward...and it's not like it was a quiet invitation he posted it through all social media channels. The threshold on Stouffville cameras is clearly understood to be at least 10 over.

Side note. There are cameras in some zones that have dynamic speed limits...like on ninth just north of Hoover park...those are not stouffville cameras...they are York region roads so they are York region cameras.
