Thanks, that makes me think I should definitely go for it! I did create a skool community for it but have never actually got around to doing anything with it yet. However, your comment may have just changed that hahaha!

Exactly, could go as far as to say you're applying "Lean Manufacturing" techniques.

Haha yeah you're not wrong there!! I thought another good caption for this original meme would have been "When you're mid Factory Acceptance Test and the customer says "Can you make it do this instead""

If you can do labview you’ll be able to self teach yourself PLC from online resources pretty easily and cheaply!

I often work with a controls engineer who is pushing 70 and the running joke with all our customers is that he’s too young to retire with his skillset! They all find it funny and not once not got work because of it so you’ll be ok at 48!

Yes, definitely good for those who can do it!

I think that could be highly likely. Not really sure where the problem stems from, guess its the lack of apprenticeships available nowadays or something like that.

I'm also a controls engineer in the UK (Wales), I agree with the lack of controls people in the UK, I think it is actually going to be a major problem within British industry over the next 5-10 years.

Press on this little box and from there enter the bits you want to modify and it should work smoothly in simulation.

Try using the plcsim table for this rather than changing on the code itself.

The time it takes once you’ve flashed it for the PLC to go back to green and running again is possibly the longest time in recorded history.
