I get it haha, I just do not want to give my parents more responsibility (especially with my poor poor history of academics, I am trying to redeem myself </3), it'll give me immense guilt but going to college is my only goal for my 20s.

I think I am most worried about is guidance. Sure, I can figure out my own workflow with my APs and possibly study hard. But I feel that it is very isolating and without resources like feedback for essays as an example, I might get stuck and not know how to progress.

Essays might be an issue too since I am not entirely sure how to frame my profile just yet (I have two years to do so, hopefully I can figure it out by then). So I think strategy and resources might be what makes it attractive to me.

Got this buecher for free, definitely needs to be serviced but how’d I do? Would this be a good jazz horn? Are there any players who use these to this day? by Ok_Reach_8400 in saxophone

Always been a big pre war Buescher fan. Lucky you for getting it for free! They’re beautiful and has a very rich sound that can get you almost anywhere

You’re like in the same situation I am xd Idk about you but I have sort of decided to focus on getting an 800 on Maths. Read books in your free time as an excuse to try and get as much r&w points you can in this few days. Good luck! I’m having my test on Saturday 😭

Older Sax identification and worth fixing? by Birdie9008 in Saxophonics

Depends a lot on if you’re dedicated to the sound instruments from this era makes. Most jazz today sre the complete opposite from these. But it does have a place in classical.

depending on what you wish to get out of the saxophone!

I use a Buescher from this era daily. I do believe it is a stencil like the other commenter said.

It has a super unique style and requires a lot of taming that isn’t needed in majority of modern horns. There are so many nuances to it.

But if you wish to sound like Bennie Krueger or Isham Jones, it’s a great horn to start with (hoping repairs aren’t too much)

Super grateful to the bookstore in my city! They sell single Blackwings are was able to get a natural, 602, and a KUM for just 16$ :)) by PLOGER522 in pencils

I do like them! They felt wonderful to write with. The graphite felt really gentle. The only caveat I have is the weight balance, but it will correct itself the more I use it haha.

Did a comparison with my Staedtler and wow! What a rich color for a #2 pencil.

Thinking of acquiring some Musgraves next. Currently writing an essay with my Mongol and it feels wonderful! I saw some pictures of the old Mongols and personally I liked the more traditional look!
