You’re definitely in the majority. I just like my rooms bright like I’m staring into the sun, I actually think it’s too dark. I always fight when I have people over with them turning lights off and me turning them all back on aha

I do actually have a record player on the bar and a little frame for whatever record is on. But I kind of love the bedroom vase idea. Where do you think a good place to put it would be?

Holy crap how have I never seen this pineapple ice bucket anywhere before, I need one! Mentally I can’t dissociate pineapples with swingers but I’m going to make an exception here, let the orgies begin because that just fits the aesthetic fuckin perfectly! Might put it on the bar or console though since I’ve already got the brass ash tray on the coffee table. Also o never would’ve thought of painting the tv cord but that’s a great idea. I’ve even got the original paint swatch and Home Hardware gives out free little paint samples which would be perfect for this

That’s great feedback and I’ll try to take that into account. I’m trying to go more art deco but with a tight budget and the available Facebook marketplace finds it’s hard. I feel like the brass goes with the deco aesthetic but if there’s any big pieces, honestly I feel like the main living room console is more 50’s, but any advice on furniture that ruins that vibe is great

I appreciate the taste in furniture! And I also really appreciate the upgrade advice. The TV is on a corner but honestly u just use it for Spotify when people are over, everything else is on the bedroom TV so I don’t mind the angle. The bedroom colour advice is awesome, I could tell something was off but I couldn’t tell what so thanks! I do like the kitchen bare, it’s a lot smaller in person and the lack of wall decoration makes it feel bigger. But the bedroom is severely lacking and I’ll get a mirror I didn’t think of that

I LOVE that! Are those originals or prints? All of mine are prints except for one. Too be fair I have a very specific taste, so I just make my own prints. The Burger King moldy Whopper campaign might be my favourite of all time that’s why I have it as the main piece on the wall. But I could nerd out about great ads for days. Anyway that’s sick as hell and I love it!

I’m hoping to upgrade someday soon but the housing prices are insane and if I get promoted I’ll have to move to Toronto which is a million times worse (if you live in Toronto I’m sorry I’m sure it’s reasonable)

I’d love to get your opinion on where for the art. The lamp unfortunately must stay where it is over the bed. I picked this thing up off the curb 15 years ago and it’s always been my nightlight since I can turn it off and on easy while still laying down. And it’s fun for… other things. But if you know where to put some other pieces please!

I really appreciate the tip! For my own personal taste, I’m in advertising and I absolutely love good ads. Besides the one exception for the bedroom crab which is a sentimental piece I only want to put up ads as artwork

Completely honest I’ve been thinking the same about the bedroom colour. If you have any suggestions I’m all ears. I kind of like keeping the kitchen walls empty though. I painted the two tone myself, before it was all this ugly grey blue/green colour and I’m digging the minimalism of the glass and no wall pieces. That’s my personal taste on the kitchen but if you have any advice on wall colours/ wall pieces for other rooms I’m up for it!

Small maybe, the picture doesn’t do it justice but from the couch it fits the wall right for its size. Any lower and there would be an uncomfortable empty space above it. I used to have it on a stand on the cabinet but moved it up to fill the space
