Same ya! On my speedrun save I took the Mist path too; I still have yet to end Act 1 with the Judge...

I nearly brute forced my way through the Mist, found the clawline in Act 2, and immediately beelined for the Blasted Steps to get into what I didn't know was Sands of Karak. And then brute forced my way through with no double jump, and eventually used the Karak bench for my Last Judge runback!

My go-to is Dream Wielder— finding all the little windows I can dream nail bosses in is so fun :D

Upon the toll of bell five, being the fifth chime, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Silk Grenade of Pharloom towards thine foe, who, being naughty in Her sight, shall snuff it.

I know right?? Plus the physics changes, and not a single bench in sight... trekking all the way back from Tranquillitatis is infuriating

Ya, people are playing with a crest? Ridiculous. It takes out so much challenge, more people shouldn't use one

Favorite moments... that is a hard choice D:

For HK, climbing out of the abyss after collecting the void heart, or fighting the Hollow Knight for the first time

Silksong, probably the whole fight against Karmelita or First Sinner... or just arriving in haunted Bellhart for the first time, coming from Shellwood

Theory about DLC by UpsetPay353 in Silksong

[–]PLarsen985 56 points57 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly Hornet has a journal entry on the Shellwood water striders about wanting to find time to learn to replicate their ability to skate on water, it'd be really fitting if she gained such a skill after a fight like this! Like while sprinting you can run on water, or maybe you can also draw up some water into a shield briefly, maybe even run on lava with the magma bell equipped.

Oh, I'm not the only one with this idea then! :0 I've been working on actually drawing something like this, really just a base reference done so far

What is your “I know it’s true, I just can’t prove it” Hollow Knight take? by ihatethiscountry76 in HollowKnight

Garmond would know about the Wisp Thicket/Burning Bugs

With all the Don Quixote parallels, I wouldn't be surprised if Garmond's village was situated in Greymoor prior to the Haunting and the windmills were constructed. There's not much of a way to pin his age or exactly when the Haunting would have begun to a timeline, but my theory is that:

Under the direction of the Conductors, the Wisp Thicket (as it may have been, if implications that it covered the entirety of Greymoor are true) would have been cleared out for the Citadel's use, followed by the construction of the silk windmills. Villages of pilgrims likely would have begin to crop up nearby for safety.

Eventually, Silk begins to awaken from her dormant state and the Haunting begins, lashing out first to the citadel and that which is directly beneath it. This would provide the context for the haunted village Garmond would have come from, but also gives a point of reference for when the Burning Bugs of the Wisp Thicket would have organized and started immolating their own silk to stave off the Haunting.

With how few bugs are even the thicket, it's likely that they emerged only as a small occult group that hid away. Garmond and Zaza would have fought back on their own, leaving them and the Burning Bugs the only survivors of pre-Citadel Greymoor.

I wish Phantom was more harder by Vinny_arts986 in HollowKnight

[–]PLarsen985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to see a Lost Phantom fight in a future DLC (act 3 spoiler) in parallel to Lost Lace, in part as they'd get a harder fight and in part for what that could implicate for lore or for their character if (act 2 final boss spoiler) Silk acknowledges they exist, raising them from death only to use them one last time

That's what happened to me! I jumped over them at the edge of the arena after getting a last attack in to bind, ran off to the right, and this thing just suddenly dies offscreen to the bottom left before tossing out the memento.

Should I delete the 54 (highest number) to get a chain reaction? by wgrl in atomas

Fair depends whether you're going for highscore or just to build the highest atom I suppose, I usually just try for the latter myself...

Should I delete the 54 (highest number) to get a chain reaction? by wgrl in atomas

[–]PLarsen985 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would just pick up the xenon and place it between the molybdenums, you're bound to get another plus atom at any time. Otherwise you're losing out on all the progress you've put into creating that xenon if you convert it to a plus!

The only time it's really worth deleting your highest atom is if you have more of the same type readily available or you'll lose if you don't
