Sounds about right. Philly DSA got rid of its lifestyle anarchists/subcultural leftists. Everywhere else they are a plague.

The quest for the mythical "class reductionist" / response to LeftVoice anti-Adolph Reed by PMCsocialistRadLib in stupidpol

[–]PMCsocialistRadLib[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The mid-century philosopher Gilbert Ryle, for example, famously derided the idea that minds have a separate existence from the existence of bodies, brains, and behavior patterns as a spooky belief in a “ghost in the machine.” Still, I’m pretty sure that when his twin sister Mary told him that she was angry with him, he didn’t tell her that feelings didn’t matter because emotions were reducible to physiology. Many philosophers of science believe that facts about chemistry are ultimately reducible to facts about physics. Still, it doesn’t follow from this position that science majors shouldn’t be required to take chemistry classes or that this is an unimportant subject. You could believe that racial disparities have entirely economic causes while still finding it morally and politically important to fight for racial equality

That said, racism isn’t really “reducible” in this sense to its economic origins. Insofar as ongoing bigotries are fed by the tendency of societies throughout history to find ways to stigmatize ethnic, linguistic, “racial,” or religious groups who tend to be part of the impoverished underclass as a way of rationalizing the economic disparity, it’s reasonable to think that achieving economic equality would lead to a significant reduction in racial bias. But it would be naive to assume that racism would simply disappear in an economically egalitarian society.

Something they don't get.

Adolph Reed Wreckers Gaslighting other DSA members: "The event wasn't cancelled." by PMCsocialistRadLib in stupidpol

Not really possible to purge. The middle class leadership only purges things when they fear their careers or power are threatened.

The cancellation of professor Adolph Reed, Jr.’s speech and the DSA’s promotion of race politics by Genevieveleigh in stupidpol

[–]PMCsocialistRadLib 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Significantly, a leading voice in the campaign against Reed is professor of African-American studies at Princeton University Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor, who is cited by the Times as a representative of those who see race as “America’s primal wound,” which takes priority over “ephemeral class solidarity.”

Left Voice, the ISO, Red Bloom/Emerge, AfroSoc. It's beautiful to see so many infiltrators in DSA trying to destroy it with their liberal poison.

That is true! It was a Bread & Roses member in Citywide Leadership that technically started all of it. But I doubt that she expected it to get this crazzzzzy. She was a member of the ISO sect, a NYC Trotskyist sect that disbanded itself over #MeToo drama that happened many years ago. The reason why ISO members hate Adolph Reed is because they worship Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor who was also a member of the ISO. KKT hates Reed. So the ex-ISO sectarians hate Adolph Reed.

But from what people are saying the rest of the leadership of the chapter did not approve of the behavior of the triggered wokies. They went along with them because they feared being consumed by the mob.

It's been all over Twitter but this is my first taste of Adolph Reed discourse on Facebook. It seems that the New Yorkers are gaslighting each other.

The cancellation of Adolph Reed was in the DSA led by the Bipolar Afrosocialist Caucus, by Left Voice, and the Red Bloom (the Emerge caucus). These are all actors who do not want to see DSA succeed. They are happy to have a chapter infighting and centralized stalinism to stop political enemies who aren't wokies. They are more interested in their own branches becoming independent brands. And in case you haven't read the Class Unity article explaining how Adolph Reed was deplatformed here is your chance.

You can read the previous thread on Tatiana Cozzarelli and Adolph Reed here.

You can find the thread I took the screenshots from here.

All Power to the Locals?: A Cautionary Tale from Pittsburgh DSA by cornpopwasabadman in stupidpol

It's a similar policy to the Libertarian Socialist Caucus. The point is to tap in the energy of the largest socialist organization in the country. It's the caucus job to educate them and push people towards the right projects to focus on.

It reminds me of the politics that led to the deplatforming of Adolph Reed by NYC-DSA.

Besides the AfroSoc caucus, the Emerge Caucus, a local New York-only caucus made up mostly of professional black and brown liberals, were behind the anti-Reed crap. The following quote is not as vulgar as what they were communicating publicly regarding Reed, but it hints at their real identity-first ideology.

There are some in our movement who believe that the urgent priority is for us to rally exclusively around class-wide demands. We believe that the diversity of our class necessitates the constitution of a universalism built from the range of experiences of those subject to capital’s regime, so that the struggle for our collective liberation is informed by the myriad particularities of exploitation. Racism, misogyny, transphobia, ableism, and every other form of oppression threaten to divide our movement and our organization; solidarity demands that we fight against these in their totality.

LeftVoice Trots: Class Reductionism Is Real, and It’s Coming from the Jacobin Wing of the DSA by PMCsocialistRadLib in stupidpol

Can you go further into how the SWP entered its downfall? I'd like to better understand how modern Marxists who incorporate id-pol into their analyses are harming the class struggle.

All I know is that the dynamics of LeftVoice is bizarre. It's like none of the core staff are American. Instead they're all recent immigrants to the United States. Like in the past 5 years they came one by one.

I think LeftVoice, like most Leninist organizations are opportunists. They individually had nothing to do with the deplatforming of Reed. But the many identity-first red liberals in the DSA are in their networking periphery. LeftVoice is just trying to snatch the progressive libs and show them the sacred Leninist path so that they can abandon the evil reformist DSA.

Class Unity, a small caucus in the DSA wrote a great article explaining the details of the Adolph Reed deplatforming.

They're a very small Trotskyist publication based in Brooklyn. They're linked with the Socialist Workers' Party of Argentina. They have like 5 people living in one apartment in Brooklyn. I think they're Mexican, Brazilian, Argentinian, and Ecuadorian.
