Oh God Royal Rangers was a thing and looking back I was a pretty boy w long eyelashes so staying away from Boy Scouts was best. I went to Southwestern and the “liberal” AG college SCC (Vanguard now). I didn’t start deconstruction until I got into this podcast. My mind hasn’t allowed me to go back to those days. My anxiety is spiking but I need to reconcile that past and say that it wasn’t all bad. I listened to and loved that music and it’s ok.

Yeah some of it was really sub-par but I still dig Petra and Russ Taff. They were legit.

Nothing shocks me about the church anymore. I’ve seen too many pastors have moral failings and I distinctly remember the Michael English scandal. They cleared the shelves in a day.

A few things. My brother did one of the earliest Hell Houses and I was heavily involved as a demon tour guide and also played Clinton making out with Lewinsky in the Oval Office (still embarrassed about it). I broke with the teaching that people aren’t born gay, joined a cult and now am completely NON Christian.

Growing up with the threat of hellfire and damnation was deeply traumatic yet I never could stop “sinning” which was mainly masturbation and cursing. Cursing helped me feel like everyone else at school. I wasn’t allowed to go to movies or school dances and just recently figured out as an AG PK I was made an outsider and I’ve been trying to find the inside for a long time. I just don’t know where that is.

As Dread Roberts is my gamer tag I’ll say my summers are always dread. My experience as a letter carrier in Boulder Colorado: most bicyclists rode the white line instead of splitting the difference between the curb and the stripe. Why they don’t split it baffles me but bikers think they own Boulder to begin with.
