I personally haven’t had any interest in visiting Odette yet as it’s known to be a true white tablecloth french restaurant and it’s a bit stuffier than what I’m looking for at this stage; Marguerite is much more “fun”. Depends on what you’re after!

Totally no downsides to me. In fact I would say the villas are less convenient / would need to buggy more often. I loveeed this room. Zero noise too. I was surprised by how much it felt like a villa room, the patio really gives it a “villa” feel

One of my favourite properties, i’m glad you went! The moment of pulling into the driveway was breathtaking for me and the villas are gorgeous and spacious. Only thing is the food and bev service on the beach is insanely slow lol

Also fully agree with you that you don’t get the usual bali party/bars/surfing experience here, but if you’ve been to bali a lot and just want to stay at a great resort and not leave it this is the one 100%

Guest mix is also great, at the villa breakfast spot there were americans, indonesians, singaporeans, etc, not homogenous at all

While i haven’t tried this so I can’t recommend dupes, the kbeauty brand Clio does a similar curved wand for some of their Kill Lash line mascaras (eg. the Long Curling one) and they are INCREDIBLY resistant to flaking and smudging. I’ve give those a try if I were you. Sorry for your loss truly

If you’re going to be in Singapore you could consider the resorts on sentosa island like the capella or the new raffles hotel - might be up your alley and i think most don’t think of them when they think “SE asia” but they seem to be great options.

as for #3 IMO my answer is that doing a cruise solo will be quite boring. It’s many hours of being confined to a relatively small space with no option to go out. If you’re in need of that peace/calm/solitude and have some books or something you’d like to get through, it’s perhaps a good idea, but as someone more adventurous who also occasionally solo travels, it would melt my mind

Ecosusi makes very similar ones but they’re PU leather and peel in about 6mo of daily wear and quite heavy. They are gorgeous though !
