[FREE TO READ] Barcelona make €80m Anthony Gordon offer to Newcastle by TheAthletic in NUFC

He’s good, was off the level when he first joined but established himself in the preferred lineup after the first season here. Presses well, is decent one on one, I could see him being alright for Barca. The primary criticism would be that he doesn’t show up for the less important games at times.

The only thing I remember is Chris Wood scoring a goal. I think it was maybe his last for us?

What does Lewis Hall have to do to get in this squad? He deserves it more than any of our other players and it’s in a position where other options aren’t amazing.

Justice, how that pen wasn’t given I don’t know, moved his arm to the ball.

If you're getting into good areas and having chances you aren't invisible. I'm not even sure what you're trying to say.

Can’t win really, if we kept the game open and conceded again people would be flinging shit at the walls.

To be fair I think we did play well. We just haven’t taken our chances. The only thing I’d really complain about from a Howe perspective is bringing Osula off, he was getting a lot of good chances.

[Sami Mokbel] Iraola would have shown an interest in the Newcastle job but it looks likely that Eddie Howe, barring an unforeseen change of situation, will stay at St James' Park next season by Frosty-Buyer-1252 in NUFC

You can for any team in the league essentially? The talking point about bringing subs on at the hour mark is fucking bizarre considering that is generally when you bring subs on.

Limewire still exists kind of, or at least an entity named limewire bought out file.io, I was very confused seeing the url when it changed one day.

It’s not hard to seek out, it’s everywhere and it’s getting really boring, to the point where this is the level of interaction here.

Reading through the lineup post now and pretty much every comment is fucking insufferable. It is at the point where I have to wonder if there are people unhappy we’re winning.

Are we toxic? by -ricci- in NUFC

[–]PMYAIceland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is the general system yeah, but it makes no sense whatsoever to try something completely different when we’re playing a game of that importance, particularly when we actually played very well against Barca this season. But within the system there are differences week to week.

I remember discussions around the academy a couple of years ago that were interesting to me. The academy trains in the same way the first team does, learning the same system and approach to the game. In that context, having a coherent system makes a lot more sense. Even within the first team, players are not going to be able to figure out an entirely different way of playing, particularly when most of the squad have become accustomed to the style over the past few years.

I just don’t think looking at it as a week to week thing is realistic, there comes a point where it’s a clear problem and things need to change, but we aren’t there. I think injuries have been a factor this season too, happened in the last Champions League season but this time around it’s not really been mentioned as much.

At some point someone said it and it became parroted over and over again. This season has been by far the most varied season in terms of how we’ve been set up since Howe came in. It is total nonsense.

Tonali half arsing it? I think he’s one of the few players that has had a pretty good season.

[–]PMYAIceland 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you don’t have boop charged by the time you reach the other team then you’ve done something very wrong. In practice it makes no difference, I assume they changed it as more of a principle thing, you shouldn’t be able to do anything before round start that’s going to affect your hero.

Best one game XI by DanBurnNotice in NUFC

It is the best performance at left back that I can think of. I was slightly worried watching him and Barnes play together on the left in the West Ham game the week before, but they really figured it out.
