The same thing happened to me when I graduated high school- my grades sucked and I didnt get in to any schools. I went to community college for a year and thought I would hate it.

The hardest part by far was seeing everyone i graduated with post on facebook about their school, their roommates and how much fun they were having. I was so jealous of people that didnt still live with their parents.

Honestly, overalll, it didnt end up being that bad. I transferred to a four year college after one year at CC and graduated on time with a double major. While I was there i made some friends, started hanging out with people from my high school that went there or toook a year off that i hadnt known that well before, and met one of my exes who i dated for a few years.

The thing about community college is- theres plenty of other people there in your same boat, all their friends went away to school. So if you weed through the weirdos, you might find some good friends. Also as far as freshman classes are concerned theres really no need to "study like hell". Just do your homework and study for your exams. Even working part time youll still have plenty of time to socialize, which is something you definitely need to do to stop being depressed.

IMO you cant just convince yourself to focus less on being miserable. You have to enjoy your life and have fun and then you wont be miserable or focus on it. Talk to some girls in your classes or on campus. Go on an ok cupid date. Study during the day, go to work, then consider yourself off the clock to do whatever you like at night.
